I like the idea of just buying the floats made for the Scots. I’ll help put them on. We’ve got plenty other maintenance to do on the boats without adding the chore of making up a float when there’s already one specifically for the boat.

Thanks everybody for weighing in and looking around for floats for the top of our masts to help keep our Flying Scots from turning turtle in a capsize. I made a call to the Flying Scot folks and they carry a mast-head float made for the Flying Scot that we can purchase. Annapolis Performance Sailing also carries some. I'll send this off to our great volunteers in our committees and get their recommendations. I bet we might find some floats that are a good fit.
