Dear friends,
I'm sure many of you have heard of of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership based at the University of Virginia. They offer leadership training for the politically-inclined through their High School Leaders Program, College Leaders Program, Emerging Leaders Program, Political Leaders Program and Candidate Training Program. Each is based on principles of trust, civility and respect in politics, with sessions on mediation techniques, ethics in public service, bipartisan cooperation, advocacy skills, policy making, using your personality and leadership styles to your advantage, and more.
As part of the inaugural class of the Sorensen Emerging Leaders Program, I'd like to personally invite you to apply to two programs which are seeking applicants right now. I'd be happy to put in a good word for you as a fellow DC Career Progress member, and feel free to put my name down (and any other Sorensen alum you know - the more the better!) as part of your answer to the "How did you hear about us?" question.
