Hungarian students and young professionals in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area cordially invite you and your friends to our semiannual picnic.

Join us for an afternoon of fun, food, and music. (If you would like to play soccer or volleyball, please dress appropriately). Your ideas and support in organizing the picnic would be appreciated.  If you are interested in helping out send email to eniko.basa@verizon.net or szokolai@yahoo.com

(Career Progress) STG Media Engagement Internship

Media Engagement & Communications Internship Position:

 

Will work under the principal of our media engagement & communications division. Responsibilities include researching clips, identifying media opportunities and engaging with reporters, producers, writers and editors.

 

Candidates should have strong communication skills, and strong, creative thinking, writing and editing skills. We are seeking candidates primarily pitching stories to television, radio, print and online outlets.  Experience or demonstrable interest in media relations, advocacy and political campaigns preferred. Candidates must have a desire to work on social justice, energy and environment, healthcare, grassroots organizing, and international issues.

 

Experience using Cision, TV Eyes, and other media monitoring platforms is a plus.

 

Applicants should be able to commit at least 3 months to the internship program. Interns will receive a stipend each monthWe are seeking recent college graduates with some previous internship experience (or demonstrable interest in) working in the communications field who are looking for an opportunity for growth.

[Unicum] Támogatás a Budapesti Fazekas Mihály Gyakorló Általános Iskola és Gimnázium RoboTeam csapatának részvételéhez az I. International Robot Olympics Game nevű versenyen Washingtonban 2017. július 14-19. között

Tisztelt Unicum Tagok!

 

Bizonyára már eljutott Önökhöz az az információ, hogy 2017. július 14-19. között Washingtonban kerül megrendezésre a FIRST Global Challenge szervezésében a First International Robot Olympics Game. Ez a nemzetközi verseny 14-18 év közötti középiskolás diákok robot programozói versenye, melyen a Budapesti Fazekas Mihály Gyakorló Általános Iskola és Gimnázium RoboTeam csapatát az a megtiszteltetés érte, hogy Európát, mint kontinenst képviselhetik. (Magyarországot egy Balatonalmádi iskola képviseli, így két magyar csapat is részt vehet ezen a nemzetközi megmérettetésen.) A versenyről további információ itt: http://first.global/

 

Szeretném támogatásukat kérni, hogy a Fazekas Roboteam csapata részt tudjon venni a versenyen. A 6 középiskolásból és egy kísérő tanárból álló csapat részvételi költsége 3,5 millió forint körül alakul, amely meghaladja a szülők által finanszírozható keretet. Pásztor Attila intézményvezető már írásban kérte az Emberi Erőforrások Minisztériumának támogatását, ugyanakkor minden segítségre szükségünk van. Kérem támogassák a RoboTeam csapatot!

JOB DESCRIPTION

The paid WIN Internship is an opportunity to do substantive, staff-­level work in member services, event planning, fundraising, database work, and office management. The WINtern is also encouraged to attend events hosted by WIN or other local organizations and is invited to plan networking and programming opportunities for other WIN members currently in Washington D.C. and surrounding areas.

Essential Functions Member Services (30%)

  • Troubleshoots and responds to incoming questions about membership, dues, the WIN website, the WIN Google Group and events in a timely manner.
  • Monitors the acquisition and renewal of members and creates membership reports for the Membership Director and the Finance Director.
  • Assists the Membership Director with recruitment, outreach, and new member orientation events.

Office Management (30%)

  • Performs general office administration duties, including sorting and routing mail, answering the telephone, making copies, responding to or redirecting email inquiries and voicemails, and restocking supplies.

Communications (30%)

  • Assists Communications Director with messaging and outreach for WIN events.
  • Updates website and social media when needed
  • Creates, composes, or helps edit organization wide email blasts to be sent out to WIN membership and networks.

Event Planning (10%)

  • Works closely with the Executive Committee Board and WIN leadership teams to manage event logistics and prepare any and all necessary materials for events.
  • Processes and tracks all event registration and donor contributions and provides revenue updates to the Development Director and the Finance Director.
  • Assists on­site at WIN events.

Work Environment

The WINtern manages the daily operations of the organization, is often the initial point of contact with membership, and is typically the only person in the WIN office during business hours. This position also supports the 13­ person, volunteer WIN Board of Directors (known as the Executive Committee), but reports directly to the Vice Chair.

Expected Hours of Work

Consistent weekday (M­F) availability (30 hours) and some evening/weekend availability. Flexibility in schedule is a plus to maximize support and attendance to WIN events, which would be agreed to and determined in advance.
