[Unicum] Re: magyar család kapcsolat keresése - Fulbright ösztöndíj alatt

Kedves Mind,

Ezúton is köszönjük az ötleteket, javaslatokat, amit a kérésünkre küldtek!
Izgatottan készülünk a jövő évi utazásra.

Mindenkinek áldott, békés Karácsonyt kívánunk!
Viola és Tamás

Viola Sallay <sallay.viola@gmail.com> ezt írta (időpont: 2021. dec. 13., H, 22:04):
Kedves Mind,

2022 március második felétől június végéig Fulbright ösztöndíjjal a University of Maryland-en fogok kutatni (Mariana Falconier, PhD, meghívására, Department of Family Science).

A szakmai tanulmányúton velem lesz férjem, Dr. Martos Tamás, akivel együtt dolgozunk pszichológusként, és két fiunk is, Pál és Boldizsár, akik 16 évesek lesznek tavasszal. A mellékelt fotón látható a kis családunk.

Általában is köszönettel veszünk mindenféle javaslatot.

A közelgő Ünnepekre minden jót és békességet kívánok a magam és szeretteim nevében!
Viola

[Unicum] Karácsonyi református istentisztelet

"Íme, a szűz fogan méhében, fiút szül, akit Immánuelnek nevezenek – ami azt jelenti: Velünk az Isten." Mt. 1:23

a Wesley Theological Seminary kápolnájában:
4500 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.

Judit Mayer is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

(Career Progress) Looking for passionate changemakers @ Majority Action

Hi all,

I hope you're all doing well.

I'm writing because we're working with Majority Action to hire for two critical roles on their team:

These are fantastic opportunities for entrepreneurial people looking to use corporate campaigning to drive transformational change on climate, racial justice, and inequality. This team has had a number of defining victories over the last year, including a campaign that led to the ousting of the architect of Exxon's notorious climate denial strategy from the board of JPMorgan Chase

Please pass these roles along to anyone that might be the right fit, or feel free to reach out if I can help answer any questions about the role.

Thanks so much,

Kezia

(Career Progress) [JOB] Care in Action - Executive Director

Link here.

Care in Action (CiA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting for fairness for the millions of caregivers and domestic workers in the United States, most of whom are women of color and immigrant women. Care in Action works to elevate the voices of women of color and advocates for an agenda that supports their ability to work and care for their families, with dignity. We provide the tools, training, and community that working families need to make their voices heard, and we organize and advocate for respect, recognition, and policies that support economic opportunity and equity.

Everyone deserves a fair wage and to feel safe in their workplace. Everyone deserves to be able to take a day off when they are sick. Everyone deserves to be able to care for their families without worrying about how they will pay the bills. Too often, it's women of color who have to make difficult choices between these, because we aren't represented in our government and policies aren't made to include us. Care in Action is dedicated to organizing women of color and building a coalition to make change. We're fighting for the representation we deserve, for policies that value care and the work domestic workers do every day to care for our loved ones, and for the policies that support us in taking care of our own families.

Care in Action is affiliated with National Domestic Workers Alliance (NDWA), a 501c3 working to shift the way care work is understood, valued, and compensated — to ensure that these much-needed jobs are good jobs with dignity, economic security, and opportunity for advancement.

Outcomes and Goals for the Executive Director

  • To ensure the overall success and impact of Care in Action's work to create a democracy that works for women of color and caregivers, including securing the resources and talent required for the organization's success and impact.
  • Ensure the power of our narrative and constituency for a strong, multi-racial democracy grows, and remains inclusive of all women of color, including immigrant women.
  • Care in Action and NDWA interact with a wide range of organizations and leaders across sectors. The ED must represent the organizations and deftly build and maintain those relationships, whether with elected officials or movement organizations or donors or anything in between. The goals for these relationships vary, but the ED will strategically evaluate the needs and outcomes for each.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a multi-year strategy focused on the  short and long term goals for the 501c4. These strategies will focus on policy advocacy, the election of candidates, electoral organizing, and primary purpose activity in support of CiA's broader mission. The ED will also lead NDWA's 501c3 nonpartisan civic engagement efforts.
  • Actively participate in budget management and fundraising efforts, stewarding key donor relationships with support from the development team and Care in Action Board & Senior Advisers. The ED will hold many critical relationships and generate additional funding for the 501c4.

Specific Duties

Strategy

  • Ensure the political alignment and positions of the organization, with support from relevant colleagues and workers.
  • Lead the 501c4 strategy areas related to candidates, electoral organizing, policy and advocacy strategy, and primary purpose activity; this includes developing programming, timeline, personnel, reporting and outcomes.
  • Forecast and interpret political events so that leadership, staff, and workers are well informed and able to plan and take action appropriately.
  • Lead on primary purpose and more electoral focused strategies related to the key issues in Care in Action's agenda including:
    • Protections and good, living wage jobs for care workers;
    • Universal Family Care, including child care, paid family and medical leave, home and community based care for older adults and people with disabilities;
    • Immigrant relief, inclusion and citizenship;
    • Access to benefits and a safety net.

Partnerships

  • Build and cultivate new and existing relationships with allies, partners, leaders, elected officials, partner coalitions, and convenings of movement, political, or government partnerships.
  • Provide leadership and serve as NDWA/CiA's spokesperson for working groups or steering committees for various coalitions.
  • Act as primary liaison with the White House and Administration, and Members of Congress, including meeting and event attendance, and regular updates and communications with White House and Administration staff.
  • Act as spokesperson and develop a public presence through a number of efforts: developing relationships with reporters and influential media voices; serving as spokesperson in print and digital media; serving as organizational representative for DC based events.

Fundraising & Budget

  • Oversee the CiA budget of ~$15 million, ensuring its continued financial sustainability.
  • Continue stewardship of existing 501c4 donor relationships, including keeping them informed of relevant updates and events and developing new donors to Care in Action & NDWA.
  • Collaborate with the Development team and relevant staff to identify materials, research, and other needs to support donors.

Leadership & Management

  • Directly supervise the Deputy Director of Care in Action, Managing Director, and Senior Operations Director; hire and support new senior staff.
  • Act as a leader for all staff, supporting a safe and supportive work environment.
  • Convene and manage Care in Action board, including Workers Political Committee.
  • Along with other organizational leadership , raise operating budget for projects across the organization, including Care in Action and NDWA Civic Engagement programs. This includes creating and maintaining donor relationships, supporting grant reporting and writing, and making donor pitches.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Alignment with NDWA & CiA's vision and values for the Executive Director:
    • Belief in the leadership and political power of women of color, especially Black and Indigenous women.
    • Commitment to support Black organizing and civic engagement, including following the leadership of Black women.
  • Extensive experience in leadership roles (approximately 7+ years) with similar advocacy and electoral work; experience working in 501c3 & 501c4 entities as well as experience in legislative advocacy are highly desirable.
  • Experience in developing strategy and programs for combined 501c4 and 501c3 organizations.
  • Ability to forge strong relationships with relevant partners, groups, and leaders at the national level; ability to successfully represent and position the organization with donors and influencers.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills to assess threats and opportunities and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Ability to understand and meet all legal and ethical requirements of 501c3 and 501c4 environments.
  • Relentless drive, tenacity and a willingness to do whatever it takes to advance our mission and values.
  • Experience as a front-facing spokesperson and in communicating with the media.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams, including supervision of staff, board interactions, and complex partnership relationships.
  • Familiarity with the domestic worker sector and issues facing domestic workers and other low-wage workers; knowledge of any of CiA's key issues is valuable.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with diverse staff in person and remotely and as part of a high-performing team, in a fast-paced, experimental organization.
  • Strong organizational skills, and creative problem solver.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Ability to travel 25% or more of the time, when it is safe to do so.

(Career Progress) LCV Job: Senior Vice President of Development (DC Preferred)

Hi all LCV is hiring for a Senior Vice President of Development and the deadline to apply is February 21, 2022.

Thanks!

Frances

Title: Senior Vice President (SVP) of Development

Department: Development

Status: Exempt

Reports To: President

Positions Reporting To This Position: VP of Development Partnerships, VP of GiveGreen, VP of Membership & Direct Response Fundraising, VP of Membership & Development Operations, VP of Marketing and Engagement, Special Assistant to Development

Location: Washington DC preferred. Other locations considered.

Union Position: No

Job Classification Level: M-V

Salary Range (depending on experience): $140,000-$250,000

General Description:

The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) believes our Earth is worth fighting for because everyone has a right to clean air, water, and a safe, healthy community. To ensure those rights are protected, we help people use their power to shape policy, hold politicians and polluters accountable, and influence elections.

For more than 50 years, LCV has grown into a potent political force for protecting our planet and everyone who inhabits it. We work to elect climate and democracy champions, and hold elected officials accountable to deliver on the ambitious change the public wants and science demands. We have built a powerful national movement with 30 state affiliates, with highly effective and impactful grassroots and community organizing programs across the country. Core to all of this work is our commitment to advance racial justice and equity.

At LCV, we approach our work through our organizational values -- accountability, anti-racism, community, innovation, learning, and sustainability -- and we are seeking a leader who will help us maintain and expand our fundraising efforts with a deep commitment to these values.

The SVP of Development is a key leadership position that reports to the President, works closely with the Board of Directors and serves on the Executive Team. The SVP of Development will have the exciting opportunity to lead the largest department at LCV in raising over $100 Million+ annually through a combination of membership, major gifts, institutional giving, and special events fundraising.

The SVP is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of our fundraising efforts, ensuring that we set ambitious yet achievable goals by providing leadership, vision, and evaluation of the Development department's performance, as well as managing relationships with some of our most important donors. The SVP will lead a skilled and growing team of over 40 development professionals in achieving the organization’s revenue goals, increasing income, and engaging more individuals and institutions in the work and values of LCV (501c4) and related entities, including LCV Education Fund (501c3), LCV Victory Fund (SuperPAC), LCV Action Fund (PAC), GiveGreen (Candidate fundraising), and the broader network of 30 state affiliates collectively called the Conservation Voter Movement (CVM).

The ideal candidate will bring a strong track record of overseeing sizable fundraising departments with varied and complex revenue streams, be a creative and thoughtful leader with demonstrated skills as a strong manager of people and systems, and have the ability to plan for and respond to growth. The SVP will need to have a deep commitment to protecting the environment and democracy and a dedication to centering racial justice and equity in all aspects of their work.

Responsibilities:

Development Department Management

  • Set and drive a clear vision for the Development department that advances organization-wide strategies, goals, and change processes.
  • Provide leadership, strategic direction, oversight, and the efficient coordination for the development team to execute the development plan and to monitor progress toward these goals.
  • Lead the fundraising team's creation of a strategic vision for advancing our deep commitment to anti-racism.
  • Manage, develop, and retain a growing team of 40+ development professionals and actively cultivate a culture of collaboration, openness, trust, equity, inclusion, and support within the department, and in its work with other departments.
  • Lead the building, implementation, and adoption of systems and practices that support intra- and inter-departmental collaboration, integration, communication, and relationship building. Across functions, programs and campaigns, promote a fundraising culture of trust, support, resource sharing, and transparency.
  • Prepare yearly and mid-year budgets in collaboration with the Development department leadership team and Finance department, sign invoices and contracts for the department, monitor revenue and expense budgets.

Fundraising Strategy and Implementation

  • Plan and direct a comprehensive, complex fundraising operation that includes maintaining and growing annual revenues of $100M+ from membership, mid-level donors, major donor principal giving, planned giving, foundations and other institutional funders.
  • Lead the department’s focus on expanding the racial diversity of the donor and activist base at all levels, and ensure fundraising strategies foster inclusion of donors and activists of color.
  • Own, manage, and grow a select portfolio of principal gift individual donors, institutional funders, and prospects.
  • Develop a vision and practices that increase integration and coordination of fundraising across the CVM, which is our network of 30+ state affiliates.
  • In coordination with NRDC Action Votes & NRDC Action Fund PAC, ensure that GiveGreen, a multi-million dollar candidate fundraising program, is staffed, resourced, and set up to succeed.
  • In collaboration with the Executive Team, Communications Department, and other senior development staff, create unified and inclusive messages and marketing frames to motivate and inspire individual and institutional donors and prospects at all levels to support LCV and LCVEF’s missions.
  • Coordinate with operations and campaigns teams to boost the use of data to inform goals and priorities. Work with the development team on short-and long-term revenue forecasting for membership, mid-level and major donor (individual and institutional) programs.

Executive Team Leadership and Organization-wide Goals

  • Instill a culture of philanthropy throughout LCV.
  • In collaboration with the Board of Directors and other senior leaders of the organization, help to develop and execute the overarching organizational direction, goals and strategies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the Boards of Directors to drive deeper engagement in stewardship and the fundraising process. Collaborate on recruitment of new Board members with an eye towards creating more age, race, and gender diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Work Experience: Required - Minimum of 15 years experience leading a robust and complex fundraising operation, with direct experience and knowledge of the full spectrum of development, including planned giving, gift solicitations, institutional fundraising, stewardship, digital and membership, as well as significant staff management.  Experience utilizing analytics, data segmentation and reporting to leverage and maximize growth, including retention, upgrade and lapsed strategies. Senior leadership experience and track record of working across multiple program areas and legal entities. Preferred - Electoral campaign experience. Familiarity with grants management and tracking across a large and growing organization. Experience in securing support for 501 (c)(3), 501(c)(4), PAC, and Super PAC contributions. Experience with operationalizing equity and developing equity and justice rooted fundraising strategies. Experience working in and raising money in organizations with an affiliated network structure.
  • Skills: Deep commitment to the organization's mission and values. High level of cultural competence and ability to lead on issues of racial justice and equity. Proven track record leading a diverse and large team -- including deep experience overseeing staff, hiring, nurturing and developing talent. Proven track record utilizing innovative strategies to maximize fundraising efforts. Proven ability to personally cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and foundation donors at five to seven figure levels. Demonstrated strength in prospect discovery and in building effective strategies to compel new major donor investments. Experience integrating giving programs at various levels to cultivate greater donor commitments. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with various constituencies, including the Board of Directors and various Board committees, other department heads, program directors, staff, and donors. Strong track record of developing and building out effective fundraising infrastructure, including operational systems and processes for fundraising team, financial management, administration, grant and contract management, CRM work, and membership/development administration. Demonstrated leadership qualities and ability to work in a dynamic, high-pressure, and reactive environment. Ability to be decisive while balancing input against deadlines. Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while handling multiple projects. Understanding of power, racial, sexual, economic, and gender inequities and their intersection with climate justice. Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with different personalities and balance sometimes competing internal constituencies. Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives and create a results driven culture. Articulate and persuasive communicator in both the spoken and written word; must be adept at crafting case materials and making presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrated awareness of one’s own cultural identity, views about difference, and the ability to learn and build on varying cultural and community norms. Commitment to equity and inclusion as organizational practice and culture. Understands how environmental issues intersect with racism, economic and social inequality in the US and has a passion for working to dismantle these systems.
  • Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems. This position is largely sedentary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. About the show

They're back and at it again! The Dew Drop Performers are letting the good times roll sassy, hot, and steamy on a cold snowy night. A Snowy Nite at the Dew Drop Inn is a musical celebration and tribute to the Juke Joint, to those iconic nightspots that were known for good food, music, and maybe a little trouble (if you weren't careful). This cabaret-style presentation highlights themes of love found, love lost, and love renewed in the midst of holiday cheer. It features songs made famous by Big Mama Thorton, Fats Waller, Etta James, and Dinah Washington, just to name a few.

Performances run December 8 thru January 9
