Last Chance: Free Bike Transport
to San Diego WTS Event

Open to USA Triathlon Annual Members from Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia
for May 10-12 Event

USA Triathlon, for the first time in its 30-year history, is offering free bike transport for current USA Triathlon annual members in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia to the International Triathlon Union (ITU) San Diego World Triathlon Series Event slated for Saturday, May 12.

In addition to the age group sprint- and Olympic-distance events, the elite events stand as the final qualifier for U.S. athletes vying for coveted 2012 Olympic Team spots for the London Games. Further details on the race can be found below:

As you can see from these video clips, we are returning to the original triathlon Mecca - a swim in beautiful Mission Bay, an epic bike course (where Scott Tinley used to train in his early years of racing) and a run along a never-before-permitted ocean boardwalk. We anticipate a spectator crowd never-before seen on the mainland.

Currently we have over 1,825 athletes from 40 states registered for this inaugural event. We are expecting attendance from those in all 50 states and hope to add another 500 athletes to register in the coming weeks.

USA Triathlon is willing to provide FREE bike transportation for all annual members located in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia as we look to fill a 53-foot trailer. Schedules for pick-up and drop-off times are being finalized and will be forwarded shortly. The luxury of this transport is that athletes need not box their bikes up as part of the program. Simply roll the bike to the truck at the soon to be released bike/triathlon shops, and we will take care of the rest.

You can register for the race here - just be sure to reference the special code "FBS" in the relevant box to claim the shipping offer. The trailer will be considered full once we arrive at the magic 100 number so sign up quickly since slots are going fast.
