    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    Organizing for America is now taking applications for State Operation Vote
    Directors positions to work in various states as part of Operation Vote.
    Operation Vote drives our strategy to mobilize and engage core demographic
    groups – Women, Latinos, African Americans, Young Americans, AAPI, LGBT and
    others – in support of President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket.

     
    State Operation Vote directors must be able to develop and execute a
    metrics-based constituency mobilization and communications plan that
    focuses on turning out key demographic groups in support of President Obama
    and Democrats up and down the ticket. Working with other senior leadership,
    the SOVD will develop and manage programs aimed at increasing the vote for
    core demographic groups. There will be a heavy emphasis on field
    mobilization efforts. All mobilization programs will be executed by Field
    staff, in coordination with Operation Vote Directors. Other
    responsibilities potentially include but not limited to: representing Our
    Movement or The President's Grassroots Organization at community events and
    meetings, speaking on the record with press in consultation with the OFA
    Communications Director, and serving as an in-state contact person for
    local campaigns, allied organizations, and community leaders.

    Organizing for America is a project of the Democratic party in the state in
    which the SOVD will be employed. Applications and resumes for the position
    of SOVD may be shared with Obama for America. Once hired, the SOVD will
    report to the State General Election Director but may engage with the Obama
    for America Operation Vote leadership as needed.

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
     
    Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting
    deadlines, and some experience writing campaign plans and budget management.
     
    Candidates will preferably have at least two election cycles of field
    organizing experience, including at least one cycle of senior level
    campaign experience.

    The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of the structure of
    political campaigns, familiarity with modern campaign technology, and
    experience managing staff and/or volunteers.

    Organizing for America is now taking applications for State Youth Vote
    Directors to work in various states as part of Operation Vote. State Youth
    Vote Director (YD's) will operate as managers for the Organizing for

    *Responsibilities*

    YD's, working within Organizing for America and with support and guidance
    from Obama for America, will develop, implement, and execute a
    metrics-driven field and political program to educate, register, and
    turnout 18-29 year olds throughout their state. YD's will be responsible
    for managing relationships with allied, state youth organizations and will
    act as a direct resource for campus-based Field Organizers. They will be
    responsible for collecting qualitative and quantitative data from campuses
    and youth communities and will report those data on a nightly basis.

    State Youth Vote Directors will also:

    - Collect and aggregate comprehensive metrics from every target campus in
    their state and report those data on a nightly basis

    - Be a reliable resource for campus-based organizers and their teams

    - Be in the field and on campuses organizing and supporting teams

    - Manage the planning, build, execution, and follow-up of a large scale
    student summit

    - Participate in Youth Vote Director calls

    - Write campus-specific registration and GOTV plans

    - Implement a voter education program to inform students of what they need
    to bring to the polls on Election Day, what they need to register and more

    - Develop and execute a plan to confirm students as on-campus volunteers to
    clean up existing lists (It wasn't a complete sentence before. Does it now
    reflect what you intended?)

    - Oversee campus-specific voter registration and GOTV plans, to be
    completed in May 2012

    - Identify major, youth events and develop an Organizing for America
    presence at those events

    - Identify target high schools and engage students for volunteer
    recruitment and voter registration campaigns

    - Develop and implement an early vote program, where appropriate

    - Act as an advocate on behalf of your campuses to state and national staff

    - Act as a liaison between campus-based organizers and Organizing for
    America staff

    - Hold daily conference calls with campus-based organizers

    - Be the Organizing for America point person for large, youth-oriented
    events

    - Work with Organizing for America's press shop and engage in a regular
    dialogue with campus newspapers and youth-focused media outlets off-campus

    - Highlight, and when necessary, develop press-worthy events for young
    voters

    - Engage local, young entertainment acts, athletes, and elected officials
    for events

    - Work with local allies around events, voter contact, and message
    amplification

    - Work with border state pro-Obama student groups to coordinate volunteer
    trips, specifically during the voter registration period

    - NOTE: Depending on the state, this position may or may not include the
    direct management of campus-based Field Organizers.

    This is not an entry-level position. Preferred candidates will have strong
    writing and personal skills, significant youth outreach experience, and a
    substantial field organizing background.

    SUMMARY:
     
    The Director of Training and Education will be the primary contact for all
    external trainings coordinated by the Foundation. Logistics, preparation,
    and materials for training sessions to educate Americans for Prosperity
    Foundation's grassroots activists will involve coordination efforts with
    state and national staff. The Director will manage these efforts with state
    directors and through training programs during the annual Defending the
    American Dream and RightOnline summits. Main responsibilities will include
    material and program creation, maintenance, and evolution of training
    programs, and coalition building among like-minded organizations to
    leverage existing training. Working closely with state directors, the
    events and policy teams will also be essential to keep staff, trainers, and
    leadership up-to-date on key economic freedom issues.
     
    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
     
    • Create and implement training materials, including program lectures.
    • Ensure trainings are being done once a quarter in each state chapter.
    • Assist and coordinate with training session logistics and preparations,
    including permit requests, speaker recruitment, accommodations and
    coalition partners.
    • Facilitate training event communications between events team and state
    staff.
    • Collaborate with coalition leaders to identify needs and issues for
    training.
    • Secure trainers to run programs as needed.
    • Work with state directors and policy team to keep track of current

    • Demonstrated knowledge of key economic issues and background in training
