[SCOW] Selkie Temporary Outhaul Block

Hello FS Skippers,

 

I noticed tonight that Selkie had no outhaul block on her aft boom end, so I jury -rigged a spinnaker block using a short piece of line that should suffice until maintenance day (8 days from now). Please note that this (expensive) spinnaker block is tied on, and should stay tied on, until maintenance day. Just run the outhaul through this block like you would the regular (smaller) block.  On maintenance day the spinnaker block will be removed from its temporary location on the boom and installed as a real spinnaker block on Selkie, and a new smaller block will be installed on the boom with a shackle, per normal.

 

Please also remember that if you are a skipper, and you see that there is something wrong with the boat, you need to send an email to maintenance@scow.org. so there are no surprises when other skippers bring out the boat after you.
