[SCOW] Fwd: F S Richmond set 7

I am writing to inform the membership of SCOW that the Board of Directors authorized the Boat Asset Committee to purchase a 5th Flying Scot. We agreed today to by a 2008 Flying Scot with a "Radical Racing Package" on it. The attached pictures are the first of 7 sets of pictures that I will forward to you that show details of the newest member of the SCOW fleet.

 

This purchase was driven by several factors; First was the desire to have 3 Flying Scot boats out at a time for Basic Sailing Instruction, and we still want to have two boats available for member usage. Second is that we have seen significant usage demand (especially on Wednesday nights) for the four Scots. We will be monitoring the usage of the Flying Scot Fleet to see if this decision supports the needs of the club. Third was a desire to start upgrading the Flying Scot fleet to some newer boats. At some time, we might replace one of our older Flying Scots to start working towards a younger fleet.

 

I want to recognize all the members of the Boat Asset Committee for their help in working through this purchase decision. We hope you enjoy this new boat.
