    This is just your bi-annual Black Beltway list refresher. We've recently
    hit 2,400 members (Yes, that's right!) and wanted to make sure everyone
    knew who we are and why this list exists. Black Beltway was started in 2009
    by Irene Schwoeffermann when she served as Coalition's Director for the
    Congressional Black Caucus. At the time, there was actually no space for
    people of color to share job postings in the DMV area. And so, she created
    this list.
     
    "Black Beltway is a space for African Americans (and friends) in the
    DC/MD/VA region to share and receive political job postings, networking and
    educational opportunities."
     
    Our one and only ground rule is that people* NOT* post weekly party
    invitations, articles you've published or any other form of self-promotion.
    We had purposely made all messages moderated, but we are OPENING the
    ability for anyone to post to try and ease the bottleneck of messages. As
    campaign season begins to come to an end, there will be hundreds of people
    looking for jobs in the DMV area, so it is very imperative that we respect
    this space and try our best to give folks opportunity. If you violate this
    one and only ground rule and disrespect this space, we will be forced to
    remove you and ban from you joining again. Please go through your
    mass-contact email lists and *REMOVE* black beltway from that list.
