Just a quick note to extend a big thank you to all who attended the SCOW Maintenance Day this past Saturday. We everyone's help, we were able to accomplish an incredible amount of tasks and our fleet is now ready for the winter months ahead.
The list of completed tasks is being compiled and we will publish it on our next issue of ChaNNels.
As you know, the goal of the SCOW maintenance program is to minimize out-of-service time for any fleet vessel. Events such as the one on Saturday ensures that our fleet remains in great shape for all to enjoy.
Going forward, remember to report lost and damaged equipment and major repairs needed to maintdir@scow.org and the boat's bosun. Also, remember to document the issue in the log book.
Bosun contact information can be found on the SCOW website at - http://www.scow.org/maintenance. In the unfortunate event that something does break on a boat, please help us to make needed repairs by volunteering to help with the assistance and/or guidance of the boat bosun or our senior bosuns. But, if the repair is simple (such as replacing batteries in a flashlight) please feel free to correct the issue yourself.
Once again, thank you very much for your support and amazing work this past Saturday.
Regards,
Luis
