| | | | | | Dear Jim, Here at Mobilize.org, we believe that "civic engagement" means more than just registering voters during election season (although that's important too!). Civic engagement is about people like you and me thinking big and acting locally. It's about getting our friends and families involved in making our communities more just, more transparent, more sustainable and engaging one other in solving problems. That's why I am so excited for the Millennial Civic Engagement Summit, which takes place August 24-26 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The summit is an opportunity for Millennials from different states to come together in person and discuss ways we can take the momentum generated during election season and translate it into lasting change in our communities. If you live in California, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, or Pennsylvania, we're calling on you for ideas about how to improve civic engagement in your community. You have until June 11th to submit your idea for a chance to win a free trip to attend the Millennial Civic Engagement Summit in Charlotte, North Carolina. At the summit, you'll have the opportunity to make your case to other change-makers and compete for up to $25,000 in funding to implement your idea. Our generation is different - big problems don't scare us, they inspire us to dream up big solutions. At Mobilize.org, we're a team dedicated to making the ideas of our generation a reality. Tell us your idea and we'll see you in North Carolina! Keep Mobilizin', Maya Enista Smith CEO, Mobilize.org P.S. Are you one of many college students or graduates across the country who is struggling with student debt? Join @mob_org + @YI_Care for a Twitter Chat on student loans tomorrow, Thursday June 7th at 1pm ET.
