[SCOW] Learn to sail with Sail for Cancer Cures!

Hi friends,

There's still a little time to join the Sail for Cancer Cures program! I think the first sailing class is on July 5th, but you'll want to get signed up before then. See below to get involved! Or contact lynn.heun@lls.org

Cheers and fair winds!

Hi friends,

The Sail for Cancer Cures Program provides a great opportunity to learn to sail through our partner sailing schools, DC Sail and Mariner Sailing School.
The program also provides Flying Scots for all students to sail on, and secures your place in the 19th Annual Leukemia Cup Regatta on September 8th! As part of your participation, we ask that you raise funds on behalf of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to support our mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

Just as you will receive ample training support through our SFCC instructors, you will receive the same level of fundraising support from LLS staff and Leukemia Cup Regatta mentors who have seen great fundraising success and are committed to seeing you reach your goals. Every single member of our 2011 class met their fundraising goals, learned a lot through their instruction, and most importantly, had a great time!

Many of you have inquired about training dates within the program, so I have attached to this e-mail some documents to help hopefully answer any questions you may have about these important dates within SFCC. Please keep in mind that our July training sessions will take place at either DCSail OR Mariner Sailing School, based on your preference and available space.

Because we have had such an overwhelming interest in learning more about the program over the last few days, I wanted to offer an opportunity to learn more about joining our 2012 Class via two conference call options, or by attending our Top Team Kickoff Reception at Vineyard Vines Georgetown next Wednesday. Of course, if you think you are ready to sign up right away, you can do that as well by filling out the attached registration form and sending it back via e-mail (tolynn.heun@lls.org) or fax to 703-399-2901. We are limited to 15 spaces within the program, so the earlier you sign up, the better!

To RSVP to a call or Wednesday's Reception, please reply to this e-mail to let me know which event you will attend. I will then send you call-in information or add you to Wednesday's guest list:

·        Friday, June 22 – call-in information meeting at 2pm

·        Monday, June 25 – call-in information meeting at 6pm

·        Wednesday, June 27 – Top Team Kickoff Reception at 6pm – Vineyard Vines Georgetown Location

Thank you once again for your interest in the SFCC Program, and I hope to see you out on the water this summer in the fight against cancer!

Very best,
