(Career Progress) Campaign Manager, More Than A Scientist (Climate Change Education Project)

Position: Campaign Manager, More Than A Scientist 
Location: Anywhere via telecommute. Washington, DC or Seattle preferred. 


The "More Than A Scientist" Campaign Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of this unique, new campaign. The campaign aims to highlight the vast scientific consensus on climate change and provide a meaningful setting for scientists to communicate as "real people" with the public – outside of jargon and data. The campaign will develop and leverage relationships with partner organizations to promote content and activate campaign sign-ups. 


Responsibilities of the role include: 
  • Building and managing partnerships with aligned organizations. Maintaining close relationships with partner organizations, anticipating content needs, identifying deeper engagement opportunities and ensuring effective organizing of shared email sign up list. 
  • Drafting partner correspondence and materials (such as email templates and suggested social media posts). 
  • Coordinating with key partners on shared resources (ie, activist lists). 
  • Managing relevant coalition memberships and representing the campaign at coalition meetings. 
  • Engaging with the scientist community to develop and push out content 
  • Carrying out social media, email and blogger outreach on behalf of the campaign. 
  • Ensuring seamless integration of online outreach (microsite content, email, social media), partner activities (online advocacy, content promotion, etc.), and media outreach activities. 

Qualifications: 
  • 3-5 years of campaign management or relevant field, grassroots or organizing experience, preferably in the climate/environmental movement. 
  • Experience in digital project management or online organizing 
  • Bachelor's degree - or higher - with a strong academic resume and GPA
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, research and interpersonal skills 
  • Proficiency managing an email and CRM back-end 
  • Detail oriented and a strong work ethic 
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting 
Salary: 
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of renewal. Contract begins immediately upon hire.
