Join us as we bring together three of the most innovative, influential, inspirational, successful social entrepreneurs for the kick-off of the DO GOOD SUMMIT!

Come to pick their brains or to sit back, imbibe, and absorb the inspiration. This is the first time the three of them will be in one room together --- sparks are going to fly! Trust me, you don't want to miss this!

The best part: you'll be helping Think Local First DC (an amazingly community-centered charity I've been involved with for over 6 years).

Meet the Speakers:

PAUL SAGINAW
Cofounder of Zingermans' Family of Businesses
Paul Saginaw and Ari Weinzweig opened Zingerman's Delicatessen in March of 1982 in an historic building near the Ann Arbor Farmers' Market, with a staff of two, a small selection of great-tasting specialty foods, a host of traditional Jewish dishes, and a relatively short sandwich menu. Today Zingerman's is an Ann Arbor institution. The Zingerman's Community of Businesses (ZCoB) now has 17 partners, employs over 500 people and generates over $40 million in annual sales from eight separate businesses: Zingerman's Delicatessen (including Zingerman's Catering), Zingerman's Mail Order, Zingerman's Bakehouse, Zingerman's Training Inc., Zingerman's Coffee Company, Zingerman's Roadhouse, Zingerman's Creamery and Zingerman's Candy Manufactory.

ROBERT EGGER
Founder/President of DC Central Kitchen and CForward
Robert Egger is the Founder and President of the DC Central Kitchen, the country's first "community kitchen", where food donated by hospitality businesses and farms is used to fuel a nationally recognized culinary arts job training program. Since opening in 1989, the Kitchen has produced over 23 million meals and helped 800 men and women gain full time employment. The Kitchen operates its own revenue generating business, Fresh Start Catering, as well as the Campus Kitchens Project, which coordinates similar recycling/meal programs in 30 colleges or high school based kitchens.
In addition, Robert is the Founder/President of CForward, an advocacy organization that rallies employees of nonprofits to educate candidates about the economic role that nonprofits play in every community, and to support candidates who have detailed plans to strengthen the economy that includes nonprofits

ANDY SHALLAL
Owner of Busboys and Poets, Vice Chairman of Think Local First DC Board
Andy Shallal is the founder of Busboys and Poets, a restaurant, bookstore, fair trade market and a community where racial and cultural connections are consciously uplifted. A space where art, culture and politics intentionally collide. A place to feed your body, mind and soul. Busboys and Poets is named after the great poet Langston Hughes, who was known as the busboy-poet. Since its inception Busboys and Poets has been a magnate for book talks, community gatherings, panel discussion and networking. Currently there are 3 Busboys and Poets in DC, MD and VA. Shallal has founded or co-founded several justice organizations and holds leadership positions in numerous others. He is the treasurer for the Institute for Policy Studies and the Vice Chairman of Think Local First DC, a local business association. He also sits on the board of several arts and peace organizations and continues to make his hometown of Washington DC a more livable community.
