New Voices New Works

Join us for Anacostia Playhouse's annual 10-minute play festival. Selected playwrights have worked with a professional director and actors as part of the Playhouse's New Voices New Works studio to take their play from the page to the stage.

Each performance will feature a different set of three new plays. After the performance, audience members are encouraged to join in a discussion about the play.

In Concert: David Hammett

Join us for an evening of song from a Anacostia Playhouse audience favorite David Hammett (Black Nativity). David is a native Washingtonian and has made it his mission to spread his love of music to everyone he encounters. He believes that music is a source of healing for the soul. This Soulful Tenor is known for singing several genres of music, from neo-soul and jazz to classical and gospel and is sure to captivate audiences in this one-night-only concert.

In Concert: Pam Ward

Join us for an evening with powerhouse vocalist Pam Ward. From her early days singing in church to sharing the stage with great artists such as Stevie Wonder and Patti LaBelle, Pam is a crowd favorite wherever she performs.

Washingtonians may recognize her from the R&B and Soul group Push Play, as well as the Funk and R&B trio Pink Palish.

Keeping You Safe

The safety of our patrons, performers and staff are our top priority. This is why the Anacostia Playhouse has joined our colleagues in the theater community in requiring proof of vaccination for indoor, in-person productions. In addition, audience members will be required to wear masks except when eating or drinking.
