(Career Progress) HIRING: Coordinator, Development Communications

Civic Nation seeks a Coordinator, Development Communications to join our growing Development team. This position will be primarily responsible for anchoring, developing, and maintaining the critical material infrastructure for the department. Reporting to the Director of Development, this position will serve an important role in assisting with creating critical fundraising materials, including proposals, grant reports, background documents, memos, and invitations.

The Development team is focused on building relationships and raising funds necessary for Civic Nation and its initiatives to carry out its ambitious plans. Through a variety of tools and resources, the team engages in conversation and raises funds from foundations, individuals, and corporations to support our ongoing efforts.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Coordinate the initial drafts for our fundraising materials, including but not limited to: proposals, grant reports, annual/impact reports, memos, and initiative overview materials;
  • Work with members of the Development team, assist in the tracking of progress on material approval and provide timely updates on progress to key stakeholders;
  • Function as an information clearinghouse for all development activities, providing central coordination for development activities, including internal and external scheduling, grant proposal and reporting deadlines, and donor communications;
  • Assist with updating our existing database and tracking systems, including but not limited to updating and maintaining donor and prospect records with accurate outreach and contributions data;
  • Assist with the donor acknowledgment and tax processes;
  • Research foundation and individual prospects. Compile background information as needed;
  • Compile materials for principals meetings and speaking engagements, including event materials, memos, packets, etc;
  • Other duties as assigned.  

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ year of experience in an administrative or development position, preferably in a writing and material creation capacity for a not-for-profit organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. 
  • Experience with donor management software.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and carry out responsibilities in a timely manner
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The Washington, DC-based salary range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 (will be adjusted for cost of labor for the incumbent's work location) annually, commensurate with experience. MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY

Civic Nation is committed to protecting our employees and our communities from COVID-19. Toward that goal, and in consideration of guidance released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and a variety of public health authorities and professional organizations, Civic Nation has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for its employees.

All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a term and condition of employment at Civic Nation unless an exemption or deferral has been approved. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after they get their second dose of a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine, such as Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or two weeks after a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

New employees must be fully vaccinated before their start date unless an exemption due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief or practice is granted.
