(Career Progress) HIRING: Executive Assistant to the Chief Partnerships & Philanthropy Officer

Civic Nation seeks a motivated, hard working team member to join the staff as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Partnerships & Philanthropy Officer. This person would manage scheduling and perform administrative tasks for the Chief Partnerships & Philanthropy Officer while also providing support to both the Development and Partnerships & Government Relations Departments.

Partnerships & Government Relations team is responsible for supporting each Civic Nation program and initiative by relationship building, partnership development, stakeholder outreach, and strategy consultation that advances our mission and promotes positive systems change.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Maintain calendars, prioritize and schedule meetings, calls, and appointments for the Executive Director. 
  • Complete and file expense reports, invoice requests, and other accounting related paperwork. 
  • Provide backup in working with legal team on contracts as related to Development and Partnerships & Government Relations. 
  • Assist with preparation and editing of the Chief Partnerships & Philanthropy Officer's documents and correspondences, as needed. 
  • Provides logistics and administrative support for recurring meetings. 
  • Support the execution of other organizational-wide projects as requested or required. 
  • Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Partnerships & Philanthropy Officer. 
  • Assist in producing documents and reports for the Board as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years of administrative experience for a nonprofit organization.
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as Google Suite, including Google Calendar, Google Docs, and Google Sheets. 

YOUR COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. 
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of Google Workspace. 
  • A strong work ethic with a calm and relaxed demeanor, even in times of stress.  
  • Excellent organizational, management and interpersonal skills, including proofreading and copy editing skills. 
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Values community building, organizing, and relationships built on trust. 
  • Strong ability to listen, understand, connect, earn trust of, and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization. 
  • Deep and proven dedication to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
  • High degree of comfort with change and working in a rapid response environment. 

SALARY & BENEFITS

The Washington, DC-based salary for this position is $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits plan includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees, flexible paid time off, paid family & medical leave, access to a 401k plan, and more.

MANDATORY COVID-19 VACCINATION POLICY

Civic Nation is committed to protecting our employees and our communities from COVID-19. Toward that goal, and in consideration of guidance released by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and a variety of public health authorities and professional organizations, Civic Nation has implemented a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for its employees.

All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as a term and condition of employment at Civic Nation unless an exemption or deferral has been approved. Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after they get their second dose of a messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine, such as Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna, or two weeks after a single dose of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

New employees must be fully vaccinated before their start date unless an exemption due to a medical condition or a sincerely held religious belief or practice is granted.
