Title: Deputy Director/Director, Video Strategy & Production

Status: Exempt

Reports to: Senior Director of Digital Strategy

Salary: $70,000 - $90,000

Civic Nation seeks a Deputy Director/Director, Video Strategy & Production to join the Digital team and lead video efforts and production across Civic Nation's initiatives. The Deputy Director/Director, Video Strategy & Production will develop innovative and compelling video content for Civic Nation and its initiatives that serves to empower, educate, and move viewers to take action. Working alongside the Digital team and reporting to Senior Director of Digital Strategy, they will be responsible for pitching, shooting, editing, and producing video content that aligns with the goals of Civic Nation and its initiatives. The successful candidate will have the technical skills and strategic experience to shoot, edit, and manage video and motion graphics projects for all digital platforms, with an emphasis on optimizing content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube. 

ABOUT THE DIGITAL TEAM

A crucial function of the Communications team, the Digital team for Civic Nation leads digital strategy and content production for Civic Nation. The Digital team provides strategy support to all current CN initiatives, including any new projects or campaigns that join the organization. This includes developing strategy for email, social media, SMS, creative, and other digital tools and platforms.

YOUR IMPACT

• Brainstorm and pitch video projects that align with the goals of each initiative and project.
• Script, produce and edit digital-first, rapid response, and long-form video content.
• Project-manage, optimize, and execute video projects that advance the organization's goals.
• Work across teams to advance educational, advocacy, and messaging goals by using video to translate complex ideas into digestible, shareable messages.
• Work closely with the Digital & Communications teams to ensure that content is tailored to the platforms and target audiences for Civic Nation and its initiatives.
• Optimize video products for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube to maximize KPIs, including video views, shares, click-throughs, email acquisition, and other conversion metrics.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in video.

YOUR COMPETENCIES 

• 4 - 6 years experience producing, shooting, and editing video content.
• Passion for creative storytelling and an understanding of the impact video has on changing and shaping culture.
• Experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud, including Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Experience working with Adobe After Effects to build animations and motion graphics from scratch.
• Strong visual storytelling skills.
• Experience shooting interviews, events, and creative b-roll.
• Ability to produce rapid response creative content with tight turnarounds.
• Strong script-writing and proofreading skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail. 
• Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage projects. 
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems independently, effectively and creatively.
• Ability to simultaneously juggle multiple projects while also consistently meeting goals.
• Excellent analytical, oral communication, teamwork and people skills.
• Demonstrated flexibility and openness in responding to changing work priorities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

SALARY & BENEFITS
