(Career Progress) DC VOTE/Statehood YES - Communications Director - Voting Rights for Washington DC!

Communications Director – DC Vote

Representation for Washington D.C.

Founded in 1998, DC Vote is a national engagement and advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening democracy and securing equality for all in the District of Columbia.

DC residents live under a potent form of voter suppression. The blanket prohibition of voting for Senators and a voting member of the House of Representatives locks the 702,000 people who call DC home out of the national voting booth. And, because Members of Congress can nullify or defund DC's local laws, DC's local representation is compromised as well.

Long rooted in racism, DC's inequality denies the people of DC the full benefits of being part of America. This disenfranchisement is most hurtful to marginalized communities and intersects with immigration, LGBTQ equality, reproductive health, worker safety, environmental protection and democracy itself.

This must – and can – be changed. DC Vote envisions a fairer America where residents of the nation's capital are first class citizens. DC Vote works for what voters in 2016 endorsed in a referendum: statehood for DC.

(Career Progress) Press Secretary | Made to Save initiative -- Civic Nation

Civic Nation is seeking a Press Secretary for Made to Save, a national public education and grassroots mobilization campaign working to save lives by increasing access & trust in the COVID-19 vaccines.

Thanks,

Anita

Title: Press Secretary

Status: Exempt

Reports to: Vice President of Communications

Salary: $100,000- $125,000

Civic Nation is seeking a Press Secretary for Made to Save, a national public education and grassroots mobilization campaign working to save lives by increasing access & trust in the COVID-19 vaccines. The effort serves as a centralized hub to coordinate and disseminate messages and effective strategies through a broad coalition of trusted partners.

Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, this person will be primarily responsible for creating a measurable media strategy to drive interest among national and local media audiences; using strategic narrative and storytelling to support earned media efforts; and cultivating and maintaining relationships with journalists for digital, print, tv and radio outlets.

The ideal candidate for this position brings 7-10 years of experience in Communications, Media Relations, or Public Relations, with a preference for individuals with experience in rapid response environments for policy or political initiatives. Agency experience is also appreciated. To be qualified for this role, you have a background in managing fast-moving, proactive media plans for national policy, advocacy, or healthcare initiatives, have excellent writing skills, and a strong understanding of the national media landscape.

This role will likely have direct reports as the program expands and as we continue to build our Communications team. Final candidates will be asked to complete a written exercise.

This is a remote, "short" term campaign that will end in July 2022.

ABOUT MADE TO SAVE

The Made to Save campaign, launched in April 2021, is an education, outreach, and grassroots mobilization effort working to save lives by building public trust in the COVID-19 vaccines through trusted messengers who can engage in dialogue and share clear, consistent information with communities most impacted by the pandemic.

The effort is anchored in the power of grassroots organizing, centered in equity, rooted in evidence-based strategies to build trust, and informed by public health experts. We aim to depoliticize the COVID-19 response and deploy trusted messengers to engage in trust-building dialogue and empower local groups to lead.

Building trust in vaccines requires an intentional and careful approach. Made to Save serves as a centralized hub to coordinate and disseminate proven messages and effective strategies through a broad coalition of trusted partners. We also provide financial and outreach support to community-based organizations in areas hardest hit by the virus, which are overwhelmingly Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities where discrimination and systemic racism have created health inequities and bred disproportionate levels of medical distrust.

ABOUT CIVIC NATION

Civic Nation is a home for changemakers who inspire, educate, and activate people around the issues that will define this generation. We empower people to take on the biggest challenges of our time — strengthening democracy; foster civic engagement, social justice and voter participation; addressing public health crises; fighting for gender equity; and more.

Also heard that Gulyas spoke about new rules today

I made it.
If you have ugyfelkapu and TAJ Szam (social security number) then you can scan your CDC vaccination card and apply for vedettsegi igazolvany at Magyarország.hu
If you don't have ugyfekapu you can find someone with ugyfelkapu.
You sign  "meghatalmazás" for that person with two witnesses. That person signs the form as well. You scan it. Then you scan your CDC card . Your friend with ugyfelkapu can apply for you he/she has to upload two documents: meghatalmazas and cdc card
Then you choose a kormanyablak in the district where your or your friend has an apt/house
Ask for mail in postbox not for registered
Then you need someone who checks the mail and scan the card for you
By law they need to send the card in 15 days
When we entered on Tuesday I saw people entering with Hungarian passport and vedettsegi card or with foreign passport and soccer ticket
There is another option, people who travel on business has a letter about that
You need vedettsegi kártya everywhere. For example I sat down in Starbucks inside and in a second someone came to my table to ask for the vedettsegi kartya
Warm regards,

Anna

Well, Gotthard, I tend to agree with you, but as we know Hungary is a different country than US.  There is a disconnect between the rules and reality. So it's a good practice to gain personal experience. I just tried to book an appointment with the embassy but they don't have anything before July 21…

As much as I enjoy reading these questions that seem to pop-up almost weekly, please, contact the embassy instead and if you have information to share from them, share it with us. IMHO they should be your primary, trusted source and not us.
