I wanted to touch base on a few different items as we head toward a busy summer!
#1 PRIVATE EVENT INVITATIONS
We have had two events that we posted in the last few weeks that we found out later were by "invite only" so we apologize. In both cases the words "non-transferable" were printed in near miniscule font on the invitation. In the case of Politico on Thursday it wasn't even mentioned on the web site and with Third Way's Hay Adams reception it wasn't even mentioned in the email invitation I received because I was on their listserv like any average person.
I responded to Third Way to let them know that they shouldn't worry because we wouldn't bum rush the event....lots of great events we share with open bars still don't get lots of networkers because frankly many folks in DC are too shy! But the ones who do are the types of people I would highly recommend they allow attend....these young professionals are hungrier and more useful to them than many interns that got jobs through family connections who get invites to these parties and are not as passionate about politics!
Anyway, maybe we can help our networkers get better access to these kinds of events in the future but in the meantime if you have questions about what events are best for you to attend, and whether you can attend them, email Jim @ n4pcareernetworking@gmail.com.
