(Career Progress) [JOB] Change The Game is searching for their new EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!

At Change the Game (CtG), we're building a community of passionate, progressive data professionals. CtG  knows there is a lack of diversity in the progressive data space, something that is detrimental not only to living our values, but to the quality of analysis of the data we need to win. For this reason, CtG aims to create accessible pathways into this field for a diverse group of learners, who hope to gain the skills and understanding of tools needed to start working as data staffers for progressive organizations around the country. We work to ensure there's a pipeline for those interested in joining this community, regardless of where they come from, what they look like, or the level of education or experience they have.

Reporting to the Boards of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) will lead Change the Game (501c4) and Change Alliance (501c3) by determining the overall strategic vision and executing operational responsibility for staff, fundraising, organizational culture, and execution of its mission. Learn more here.

Compensation: $100,000-110,000

Benefits included unlimited leave, 99% employer covered medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible schedules in non-peak times.

Location: Remote, US

Travel: Following COVID protocols, when it is safe to do so, this role may require limited travel to meet with funders and community members, as well as events such as conferences.

The next Executive Director will strive to:

  • Grow and diversify CtG's funding sources so that we may continue to provide scholarships to those most in need and low cost trainings to all students. The ED will maintain and build relationships with the board and key allies to effectively engage funders to bring in ~$1 million annually

  • Manage, lead, and coach the CtG staff to run regular and effective trainings, as well as foster relationships with the broader progressive data community. CtG training are driven by the time and attention of many people and can only thrive under healthy oversite.

  • Act as the organization's CFO - monitoring expenses and income; conducting regular program evaluation; keeping the board advised.

  • Help build out our 501c3 arm, Change Alliance, to expand the trainings and services we are able to provide without sacrificing quality.

Additionally, the new Executive Director will be starting during a busy time at CtG. Our work has peaks and valleys, and they will need to jump in during a peak time as the team conducts trainings for the 2022 election cycle. However, it is critical that the ED has a long term, anti-burnout mindset for themselves and the staff.

Specific Responsibilities

Leadership & Management

  • Support for and belief in furthering CtG's mission, values, and belief in diversity. This includes alignment with a community driven approach to training, and the belief that these efforts directly impact positive and progressive outcomes we wish to see.

  • Lead the continuing planning and growth for CtG, in alignment with the key outcomes noted above e.g. fundraising, management, trainings and community support.

  • Actively engage CtG's vendors, funders, board members and the progressive data community, keeping them apprised of programs and seeking opportunities for partnerships.

  • Directly supervise staff with a focus on wellbeing, including support for managing deadlines, timelines, and work flows that can be sustained long-term.

  • Ensure systems are effective to track scaling progress; regularly evaluate training Academies and online learning courses to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents.

  • Manage CtG's budget and spending, by working closely with the accounting firm, the Board of Directors, and external grantors.

Fundraising and Communications

  • Ensure long term sustainability of relationships with funders for both 501c3 & 501c4 multi-year fundraising

  • Identify and successfully apply for grants and funding to support existing operations and sustainable growth.

  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications, utilizing new and existing relationships, to create a stronger brand within the progressive space.

Job requirements

The ED will be thoroughly committed to CtG's mission. All candidates should have demonstrated leadership, coaching, and relationship management experience, and should have experience working with or in the progressive data space.

Specific requirements include:

  • At least 7 years of management experience; 2+ of those years in leadership roles. Work experience in the progressive space is required.

  • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget. Track record of effectively leading diverse teams.

  • A commitment to training, learning and data-driven program evaluation.

  • Success working with a Board of Directors with the ability to cultivate existing board member relationships.

  • Familiarity with progressive tools such as BigQuery, VAN, Civis Platform, Google Sheets.

  • A strong network within the progressive space, especially with funders.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships in the progressive space, via partnerships and/or work experience, with:
    • Campaigns

    • Progressive 501c4 and 501c3 organizations

    • Labor, reproductive, or other progressive allies or

    • State or local party infrastructure

  • Self-directed, mission driven, and proactive

  • Approach to work with passion, idealism, integrity, and a positive attitude.

  • A leader in the progressive space, or someone looking to become a leader in the progressive space.

We embrace principles of nondiscrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, or transgender or veteran status. We strongly encourage people of color, women, and LGBT candidates to apply. Change the Game and Change Alliance are Equal Opportunity Employers. All who believe their voice should be represented in the Progressive Technology community should apply.

[Unicum] THE HUNGARIAN KUVASZ JUST WON A FIRST PRIZE at the NATIONAL DOG SHOW

The Kuvasz won first prize in the working dog class. To my knowledge it's the first time ever that the Hungarian Kuvasz has won in this class.

A Kuvasz nyerte meg az elsö díjat az amerikai Nemzeti Kutya Bemutatáson a munkakutyák között. Tudomásom szerint elöször nyerte a Kuvasz ezt az osztályt.
