Anacostia Playhouse Audition Notice: A Snowy Nite at the Dew Drop Inn
Let the good times roll. A Snowy Nite at the Dew Drop Inn is a musical celebration and tribute to the Juke Joint, to those iconic night spots that were known for good food, music and maybe a little trouble (if you weren't careful). This cabaret-style presentation highlights themes of love found, love lost, and love renewed. It features songs made famous by Big Mama Thorton, Fats Waller, Etta James, and Dinah Washington, just to name a few.
A Snowy Nite at the Dew Drop Inn Production Dates: November 1, 2021, through January 9, 2022
Anacostia Playhouse is seeking the following roles:
Non-Union Male Dancer/Singer. Must be a strong modern/tap dancer.
To audition, prepare a video submission displaying dance skills and two songs one up tempo and one moderate/ slow in the style of 1920's to 50's Jazz/Blues or Gospel.
Non-Union Female Singer Soprano with belt able to sing tight Doo Wop harmonies. Must be able to move well.
To audition, prepare a video submission of two songs one up tempo and one moderate/slow in the style of 1920's to 50's Jazz/Blues or Gospel.
Positions are paid with a stipend.
Submit headshot, resume, and video audition to casting@anacostiaplayhouse.com. Submissions should be 3 minutes or less. Deadline for submissions is October 1, 2021, by 5pm.
Call backs will be in person October 8-9, 2021. For callbacks, sheet music must be in the key in which you wish to sing.
