Data for Progress is hiring a web developer with strong experience in web design to help expand our mission of empowering movements using data. Our Web Content Strategist will work closely with the communications and tech teams to maintain the Data for Progress website and push the envelope in how we use the web to shift policy and polling narratives.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (but you don't need to have all of them):Strong familiarity with Squarespace for website design and management
Experience creating microsites and interactive data visualizations
Experience in graphic design using platforms like Adobe InDesign or Illustrator, Canva, Figma, etc.
Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Ability to interpret and take action based on SEO and website analytics (e.g. Google Search Console, Google Analytics)
Working knowledge of progressive policies and familiarity with the work of Data for Progress
Strong and self-directed project management and ability to juggle multiple priorities at a time
Strong written, operational, and organizational skills
Revamping the dataforprogress.org homepage to align with DFP's political and organizational priorities
Launching a micro-site for a partner that showcase a policy and polling narrative (like fightingchanceforfamilies.org)
Developing a visualization of district-by-district support for the American Jobs Plan
Implementing an SEO strategy for dataforprogress.org
Maintain the Data for Progress website by uploading blog posts, memos, and other projects using Squarespace
Interact directly with clients and outside partners to provide customized, innovative online presentations of Data for Progress' polling.
Implement a strong technical foundation for dataforprogress.org in SEO, accessibility, and design.
Track and report on website analytics to inform strategy for communications, tech, policy, and polling teams
Collaborate with diverse team members and stakeholders, often in rapid response scenarios and on tight deadlines
