An artistic celebration organized by the Anacostia Business Improvement District, Maple View Flats and the Love Hope and Art Gallery in collaboration with the DMV League of Artists and of artist and exhibit curator Luis Peralta Del Valle. The exhibition honors the rich tapestry of American culture through a showing of paintings and drawings created by artists who represent the cultural diversity of our nation. The bold colors, heavy textures, loose movement, and subject matter in this exhibit visualize the woven ethnicities that create the fabric of America.

Love, Hope & Art 5.0 combines elements from Del Valle's Love, Hope, and Art, Out of Chaos, and Troublemakers series along with pieces from Del Valle and the legendary DMV artists who joined together to present the acclaimed gallery show Love, Hope and Street Art: Nina Carpenter, Keiona Clark, CROOK, DECOY, Jay Durrah, HKS181, HB the Artist, Roger James, Clarence James, Sonia Jones, Terrance Nicholson, Kimeko Robinson, Levi Robinson, Luther Wright , David 'DEZ' Zambrano. Among the works presented are everyday street signs, transfigured from one symbolic vocabulary to a new one rooted in love, hope, and art. Visions of strength, determination, prosperity, and beauty, are created using refined elements of traditional portraiture and the embedding of positive messages. Luis and company connect the visual and symbolic in a way that provides literal interpretations to the viewer.

For details email curator Luis Del Valle at collector@lovehopeart.com using the Subject Line "Mapleview Gallery Information."

In 2004, long time friends James Foster and Adele Robey presented A.R. Gurney's Love Letters in what would become the first of many such performances over the years. In celebration of the reopening of Anacostia Playhouse after a long year and a half pandemic hiatus, they return to the stage for one performance only to welcome you back to live theater. Love Letters is under the direction of longtime Playhouse friend Jared Shamberge.

Doors will open at 6 pm with the performance at 7 pm. Come early and enjoy a cup of cheer and the sounds of DJ Edward Daniels; greet friends, meet board members, staff and volunteers, and celebrate being back in the theater.

Then, stay afterwards as we turn up the heat and start the party! Light refreshments and more cups of cheer will be on hand.

Tickets for the event are $20 and all inclusive. Tickets must be bought in advance, and will not be sold at the door.
