Re: GALVANIZE: Galvanize Zoom Check-in/Gathering this Saturday 330p

Hey beautiful people,

I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting this going. It really did something for me to see everyone's face, to laugh, listen, and just talk. Please, let us know if this is going down again.

All the love,

Dear Beautiful Black Creatives,

Galvanize was started 15 years ago as network for us to connect, collaberate, educate and support each other through our unique journey as artists of the African diaspora, specifically Black artists. And one of the main tenets of Galvanize is to provide a safe forum for us to discuss those things that specifically effect us on our unique journey.

So, because we are all far too beautiful to be seen so little, we'd like to check in with you and see your beautiful selves. To that end, our dear sister and colleague Deidra L. Starnes, Associate Artistic Director of 1st Stage, has graciously set up a Galvanize Gathering via Zoom, an UNAPOLOGETICALLY BLACK SPACE, this Saturday June 13th, starting at 330p.

**Use the link below to register beforehand as there are limited slots.**

Join Zoom Meeting

To be clear, this is a space for BLACK artists who are members of Galvanize as a means to check in with one another during this unprecedented time of having to navigate systemic police violence against Black people while navigating a deadly pandemic. We ask and expect that this be respected.

It is very clear that we need to be able to speak and commune SAFELY amongst ourselves. This gathering WILL NOT be livestreamed on FB or Instagram. It WILL NOT be recorded. But we collectively need to connect during this time and be reminded that we are not alone.

So please join us this Saturday at 330p.

In Comedy & Tragedy,
Your Sisters and Brothers.
