GALVANIZE: Fwd: Reminder: Open Call for DC-Area Actors, Playwrights & Directors: Klecksography 2020 and Rorschach's 20-21 Season

Hi everyone!

Jenny McConnell Frederick of Rorschach and I go all the way back as undergrad classmates at VCU in the ancient 1990's. Here is a great opportunity to apply, Playwrights, Directors and Actors. Deadline is June 29. 

I submitted my application for Playwright. Trying new things. 

If you've been thinking about it, do it! Black voices and visions are needed everywhere.

The Open Call for Rorschach's 3rd Annual KLECKSOGRAPHY Project &
the 20-21 Season* opens today and here's what you need to know:

  • Each year Rorschach's KLECKSOGRAPHY Project employs 30+ emerging artists to create and perform 6 short plays over the course of a week.
  • Artists are selected for this project via an Open Call on-line application/audition
  • Klex artists have the opportunity to network with artistic leadership from Rorschach as well as Arena Stage, Imagination Stage, Mosaic Theatre, Longacre Lea, We Happy Few, Building Better People, TBD Immersive, Adventure Theatre, 1st Stage, and more to be added soon!
  • All participating artists receive a $100 honorarium
  • All artists who apply/audition will also be in consideration for Rorschach's 20/21 Season. (Additionally, with the applicant's permission, audition and application materials will be shared with the above theatres for consideration in their upcoming projects.)
  • Rorschach's 2020 KLEX will be July 31-August 9, will take place online (of course...) and will culminate in a public digital performance on August 9th
  • SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Monday, June 29th at 11:59PM EST
*Wait, 20-21 Season? Do you have one? What is it? To be honest we don't know exactly what form it will take just yet, but it will no doubt require dynamic and talented artists--and this is one of the ways we find them!
