(Career Progress) Digital Content and Media Coordinator (CREW)

Digital Content and Media Coordinator

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) seeks a
digital content and media coordinator to join our creative and
fast-paced communications office. We are seeking a self- starter with
excellent writing credentials and experience working in online
environments. The candidate will also have professional experience
creating and editing images, analyzing statistics, monitoring press
coverage, and building press lists. Responsibilities will include
writing blogs and other content, formatting and publishing content to
CREW's websites, coordinating communications actions and strategy with
other staff members, creating e-newsletters and managing various
organizational websites.

CREW is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to
promoting ethics and accountability in government and public life.
Founded in 2003, CREW has played a key role in motivating the public
and policymakers to change the culture of corruption in Washington.
Through litigation, exhaustive research and strategic communications,
CREW impacts the way government officials conduct business, ensuring
that they are continually working to better the public good.

Responsibilities include:
• Organize and write clear, concise and compelling written materials
for multiple audiences.
• Edit written materials.
• Assist in creating and executing creative, email and social media campaigns.
• Create and edit web pages within a content management system (CMS).
• Develop and maintain website content utilizing search engine
optimization (SEO) best practices.
• Manage accurate online content updates and dissemination in
collaboration with various departments.
• Resolve web-related technical issues and/or work with third-party
vendors to address them.

Qualifications include:
• Minimum of three years professional experience in web content management.
• Proven ability to work well in a team, with multiple content owners.
• A proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and database structures; familiarity
with a variety of third-party websites and tools, including Google
Analytics and major social media platforms.
• Experience with blogging, social networking, and video editing.
• Solid understanding of web site usability and user experience issues.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to respond quickly
to changing priorities.
• An eye for grammar and detail.
• Ability to think creatively.
• A sense of humor.

The following are desirable but not required:

• Knowledge of online fundraising tactics and experience integrating
fundraising strategies into communications work.
• Knowledge of government reform issues.
• Experience working within the Expression Engine CMS.
• Experience creating and editing graphics and images.
