(Career Progress) Lead Organizer - Veracity Media - Washington D.C. or Remote

Veracity Media, a digital and political strategy consulting firm based in D.C. and NYC, is looking to hire a scrappy yet efficient Lead Organizer.

It doesn't matter if you're from a campaign, non-profit, or tech background, if you're the type of person who understands the world of political campaigns and advocacy inside and out, we want you. Our lead organizer will be the point person (account manager) for multiple clients and will be responsible for generating and closing new business leads, and will use technology to help our clients reach their audience, all using cutting-edge technology.

While experience in politics or advocacy isn't required, it certainly helps, as we don't think it's possible to separate the technical side of organizing from the political side of organizing. The majority of our clients are political campaigns (local to statewide races) or non-profits. You can check out the types of clients we work for on our website: http://www.veracitymedia.com/.

Requirements:
  • Being able to tend to the daily needs of a set number of clients (accounts)
  • Delivering on most client requests without needing assistance
  • Being able to manage projects from start to finish - Setting deadlines for clients and other team members and seeing that websites and other work products are delivered on time
  • Pitching projects; being able to talk knowledgeably about online organizing, digital strategy and the software we use
  • Helping generate business leads
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for making minor website updates
Proficiency with Photoshop or Illustrator and Javascript/jQuery is a huge plus, as is experience with Ruby/Rails.

A typical project is working with a client through the website creation process (most of the sites we do are on the NationBuilder CMS), then helping them craft well written emails, helping organize their database, suggesting content to post on social media, etc. While we don't expect you to know NationBuilder, the ability and enthusiasm to learn the platform and it's theming system is a must.

Applicants with online organizing experience, data analysis, content development, web skills of any kind or knowledge and experience using NationBuilder will be given special consideration.

To apply, email ryan@veracitymedia.com with a resume, and a couple sentences on why you're the best candidate for the job. Being located in the D.C. area is a plus, although not necessary.
