(Career Progress) Front-end website designer/organizer - Veracity Media

Veracity Media, a digital and political strategy consulting firm based in D.C. and NYC, is looking to hire a scrappy yet efficient front-end designer. It doesn't matter if you're from a tech background or a political background, if you're the type of person who can take a client's vision, translate it into a wireframe, iterate changes, then code a beautiful, responsive site (on a variety of platforms e.g. WordPress, Joomla, NationBuilder, etc.), we want you.

You'll need to be proficient in Photoshop or Illustrator, HTML, CSS (ideally SCSS), and Javascript/jQuery. Experience with a language like liquid, Perl or especially Ruby is a plus.

A majority of the websites we do are on the NationBuilder CMS, a new online organizing platform for political campaigns and non-profits. While we don't expect you to know NationBuilder, the ability and enthusiasm to learn the platform and it's theming system is a must.

While experience in politics or advocacy isn't required, it certainly helps, as we don't think it's possible to separate the technical side of organizing from the political side of organizing. The majority of our clients are political campaigns (local to statewide races) or non-profits. You can check out the types of clients we work for on our website: http://www.veracitymedia.com/.

To apply, email ryan@veracitymedia.com with a resume, samples of websites or designs you've implemented, and a couple sentences on why you're the best candidate for the job. Being located in the D.C. area is a plus, although not necessary.
