ONLINE ORGANIZER
Energy Action Coalition is seeking a smart, ambitious and experienced Online Organizer to support online advocacy, outreach and movement building in the lead up to Power Shift 2013.
When 10,000+ young people come together this fall for Power Shift 2013 it will be a defining moment in our fight for a clean energy future, and YOU can help ensure that when it happens, our partners, grassroots leaders and the movement are heard LOUD & CLEAR.
The Online Organizer will support the EAC online/communication teams in the creation of web content, drafting email blasts and online actions, management of data/technology systems, and be a key player in developing the online strategy to make Power Shift 2013 a pivotal moment in the history of the youth climate movement. This position will report directly to the EAC Online Director.

Founded in June 2004 by youth climate leaders, the Energy Action Coalition (EAC) mobilizes the collective power of the millennial generation to stop climate change and create a just, clean energy future and resilient, thriving communities for all. The 30 partners and allies of Energy Action Coalition work together to leverage our collective power and create change for a clean, efficient, just and renewable energy future. Our work is focused on four strategic areas: campuses, communities, corporate practices, and politics.
Power Shift 2013, the fourth national Power Shift convergence, will take place on October 18-21, 2013 in Pittsburgh, PA. It will bring together 10,000+ young people to connect, train, and leverage our collective power to achieve the ambitious solutions we need to mitigate the climate crisis. Power Shift 2013 is about more than just a weekend event, it's about bringing a movement together for lasting coordination, collaboration, and victory.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Online Organizer will work collaboratively with the Online Director and other Energy Action Coalition team members to craft and implement an online strategy that amplifies the power of the movement in the run up to Power Shift 2013 and beyond! Primary responsibilities include:
Write compelling web content that tells the story of Power Shift 2013, Power Shift attendees, and the youth climate movement.
Work with grassroots leaders to build and grow leadership within the WeArePowerShift.org online community.
Implement email blast and online action strategy to drive key campaigns in the lead up to Power Shift, expanding the influence and reach of the movement.
Coordinate with the field team and online team to keep data moving where it needs to be
Track and report metrics on online engagement to help us better communicate with supporters and tell the story of Power Shift
Support management of mission critical web, data and technology systems
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Strong writing/communications skills
Strong overall technical skills and the ability to quickly learn new platforms
Basic HTML/CSS (nothing crazy, but know how to get by)
Enjoy working under pressure, problem solving, and figuring out how to get things done
1-2 years experience with online organizing
Desired
Data management and analytics
Graphic design (Photoshop/InDesign/Illustrator)
Experience using Drupal and/or Salsa
Familiarity with the youth climate movement
