Re: [Unicum] Re: Shipping Documents to the Holocaust Memorial Center

I had the same experience.  I had to resend a large package again...never found.  Last track was at the Ferihegy postal station and then off the grid and vanished. Lesson learned...UPS, DHL, Fedex only if anything is important.

Frank, I'm sorry to hear of your missing documents. I've learned the hard way that if it absolutely, positively has to get there, don't use Magyar Posta.  Having said that, you might check with the Hungarian customs authorities.  The ones responsible for postal deliveries can be reached through the postal website here

There's a chance something went awry with customs clearance or the lack thereof.  Good luck, and next time use DHL, FedEx … anyone but Magyar Posta!

I recently shipped a package of documents concerning the families of both my parents to the Holocaust Center on Pava utca.  I sent the package on June 2 by USPS "Priority Express", which tracked the package only as far as JFK airport.  The package has not arrived to date.  The director of the museum has made a good faith effort to find the package but Magyar Posta claimed that they could not locate it.

Can any of you offer suggestions about further action?  Have you had similar experiences?
