Dear Friends,

We hope you made it out to the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival this past summer, and explored the cultures and traditions of Hungarian Heritage, One World Many Voices, and The Will to Adorn. We appreciate your support and love of our beloved Festival!

Currently, we are preparing for the 2014 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, featuring programs on China and Kenya (possibly a third program too, yet to be named). Our curators just returned from a week-long trip to China, and I am headed to Kenya this week! Stay tuned for more information on a third program, as well as updates from China, Kenya, and beyond.

We will keep you posted with exciting developments from the upcoming Festival and from around the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage, where we are constantly expanding our understanding of the world’s diverse living cultures. Thank you again for sharing your experiences at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival!

Sincerely,

Michael Atwood Mason, PhD.
