(Career Progress) Claudia L. Mckoin Leadership Training Academy

Announcing the 2014 Claudia McKoin

Public Service Leadership Training Academy

 

The Federal City Alumnae Chapter (FCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is launching the Claudia L. McKoin Public Service Leadership Training Academy. The purpose of the Claudia L. McKoin training academy is to increase the number of  women involved in public policy development, by increasing the number of women running and elected into public office.

 

This six month academy will provide participants with a robust and comprehensive training in the fundamentals of developing and running a campaign for public office.  The themes of the four sessions are:  

  • Campaign 101 - Fundamentals of Running a Campaign;
  • Campaign Management;
  • Effective Communications; and
  • Developing the Candidate.

In addition to the formal programmatic sessions,  participants will have the opportunity to build and expand their networks through special events coordinated by partners of the Claudia L. McKoin program.

 

At the conclusion of the program, the intent is to have developed a cohort of  politically active women who use the women who use the skills and tools gained through the program to run for office and be an effective advocate for their communities.

 

Applications for the 2014 Claudia L. McKoin Public Service Leadership Training Academy must be received by Sunday, December 15, 2013.
