(Career Progress) The Voter Participation Center + The Center for Voter Information Seek a Director of Data Engineering

Title: Director of Data Engineering - Washington, DC or remote

Department: Data Systems & Analytics

Reports to: Vice President of Data Systems & Analytics

Job Classification: Exempt / Full-time

Organization Description: The Voter Participation Center (VPC) is the nation's largest non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to registering and mobilizing voters from the New American Majority (NAM) – people of color, unmarried women and young people – who make up the majority of the potential electorate but have been historically underrepresented in political participation and power. Using direct mail, digital and social media outreach, guided by rigorous data science and experimentation, and working closely with a multitude of partner organizations, VPC connects with millions of voters each year, building the foundation for a more representative democracy.

In nearly 20 years VPC has helped nearly 6 million people register to vote. In 2020, as COVID-19 shut down most forms of in-person voter contact, VPC helped more than 4.6 million people apply to vote by mail & cast ballots, registered more than 1.6 million people, and assisted millions of voters in voting early and safely to reduce pressures on polling places on Election Day.

VPC programs are flexible, nimble and scalable. VPC is driven by a commitment to constant research, testing, experimentation and evaluation, and thus offers many of the most cost effective, proven, high-impact programs in the civic engagement field.

The Center for Voter Information (CVI) is VPC's partner organization, and is a separate but affiliated 501(c)4 non-profit that works to engage both the NAM as well as members of the broader electorate who share their values.

Dear friends,
This is just a gentle reminder, if you can afford it, please, support our Hungarian scouts in the DC area. We created an online store where you can purchase deli items, make donations, all in support of our local scout troop providing Hungarian scouting activities for our youth. The store can be found at https://cserkeszbazar.square.site/  Orders will be bagged, labeled by name, and available for pickup at the bazaar between 1:00 PM and 9 PM this Saturday. Donations can also be made online without making a purchase. You can also donate items you purchase online to our scouts by leaving a note on your online order. Thank you for considering a purchase or donation during our annual fundraising event.

The deli is organized and run by parent volunteers, 100% of revenue goes to support our local Hungarian scout troop.

The Hungarian Scouts of Washington DC will hold its annual Christmas bazaar fundraiser this Saturday, November 19th between 1:00-9:00 pm at The Woman's Club of Chevy Chase.  The event will offer live music and dance performances, Hungarian food, and shopping for gifts, books, pastries, and favorite Hungarian delicacies. Kedves washingtoni barátaink!
A Bátori József cserkészcsapat  (https://www.dccserkesz.org/) szombaton november 19-en tartja az idei karácsonyi adománygyűjtő bazárját a Woman's Club of Chevy Chaseben 1-től este 9-ig.

Re: [Unicum] Hungarian health insurance

Hi Lada,

Unless you returned your residency card (lakcím kártya) your Hungarian health insurance is still valid but probably with an outstanding balance. You can pay this by a simple transfer to NAV-s account.
More about this can be found on these websites:
Heads up! The Hungarian Health insurance card is not enough to be covered in the EU. You need to request a European Health Insurance card (free of charge), this can be done via https://magyarorszag.hu/

Best,

László

We plan to move to one of the countries of EU. And I just red that Hungarian insurance is valid there.

Thank you !

(Career Progress) Free career (or personal) coaching on Saturday, December 3rd ONLINE

Feeling stuck about your career direction? Want some clarity about what path to follow?  Enjoy a full day of 1:1 coaching with a student of Integral Coaching from New Ventures West.

New Ventures West has been offering coach training for over 3 decades.  On December 3rd, you have have the chance to work one-on-one with an experienced professional who is a student in our rigorous year-long program. This is a great way to get some support on a topic that you've been having trouble with, whether it is personal or professional in nature. Your participation assists us in assessing the skill and competence of the students in the course.

This is what the offering from New Ventures West looks like:
You will have the opportunity to:
  • Receive support in developing a new competence, getting unstuck in some aspect of your life, or opening a new possibility for yourself. The topic for the coaching is yours to choose. Topics in the past have included career direction, relationship issues, professional development,  or learning a new skill.
  • Explore coaching as a potential professional path. Being a guest client is an excellent way to learn if Integral Coaching is something you would like (and feel called) to develop.
  • Support us in assessing the skill and competence of the students in the course. Your feedback helps us to qualify them for certification as Integral Coaches.
The coaching is available at no charge.  Because this is an important part of the program, we are looking for people who:
  • Have a genuine interest in being coached
  • Are open to revealing part of themselves and hearing a new perspective
  • Can commit to showing up (and on time!)
