GALVANIZE: Non-Union Actor - Film Shoot - stipend paid - June 21st - July 31st

Cassanova Productions is looking for an actor for our upcoming production "The Baker" that will cover a 2 week (1-3 days a week) period between the dates of June 21st and July 31st

The role we are looking to fill is a character named BARRY. The filming will take place in various locations in MD and DC. This is a paid opportunity. $125 - $150 per day. SCRIPT TITLE - The Baker
LOGLINE - After accidentally adding cannabutter to her famous biscuits, a God-Fearing retiree starts feeling young again, but when she discovers the mistake, she must decide if she wants to continue on the road to health or honour her morals.

KEY CHARACTERS -
Virginia Claggett , F/74 – A retired widower, owns the town bakery, pillar of the community, family matriarch. Always very neat, never a hair out of place. Becoming very forgetful. She feels as if life is slipping from her, as she gets older. She's looking for ways to hold onto her independence.

Rainey Proctor, F/40 - Virginia's Niece. She's Free-spirited, upbeat, funny stoner. Virginia raised her after her mother's death. She's a nurse, a serial dater.

Alexandra Claggett- Carter, F/41 Virginia's Daughter. Elegant, witty, intelligent. A Technology Executive. Married with one child. She clumsily tries to help her mother,
but it seems as if she's trying to take control.

John Smith -M/75 - Grumpy old farmer by day, drug kingpin by night. He is a pillar of the community, and well respected. No one knows what he does at night, except his employees. Virginia's new ingredient puts a dent in his business.

Mary - F/50 – Apothecary, A natural-mother earth person. She seems to always be at peace, very knowledgeable and helpful about cannabis. She is taken with Virginia and
tries to help.


PLOT SUMMARY
ACT ONE

Virginia , a retired baker, and town mother struggling with memory issues . Post-it notes are used to help with her struggle with memory loss. A pillar of her community,
with a healthy and active life. Also a Deaconess in the town's largest Church. She and her close friends live normal lives, taking classes at the local YMCA. Her life changes
when she discovers cannabis as a new ingredient in her pastries. Virginia accidentally uses cannabutter in her biscuits, and experiences a few days of euphoria. She
discovers her memory isn't an issue while she is high. She is unaware of her state, and no one is aware of her using the new ingredient.

ACT TWO
Once she discovers that she has used cannabis, she decides she will not use it going forward. Virginia promises her daughter and niece that she will not use it again. After a
few days of thinking, Virginia makes a failed attempt to purchase marijuana to help with her memory. This scary moment leads her to beg her niece to help her feel better
by purchasing more cannabutter. They decide to keep this a secret, her niece introduces her to an apothecary, and Virginia begins her cannabaking journey. She bakes to help her neighbours with their ailments. She figures out a clever way to deliver the pastries, at the bakery while keeping the ingredients separate from the normal bakery items.

ACT THREE
The locals who were once purchasing marijuna from the local corner boys, are now choosing Ms. Virgies edibles. This becomes a problem for the kingpin who controls the
drug distribution in this small town. Things become dangerous, as the kingpin asks his employees to figure out why the sales are dropping. This places Virginia in his
crosshairs where she has to confess to her daughter that she continued to use the ingredient, and risk possible exposure of her secret to the town.
