HR and Payroll Specialist
Salary: $47,480 to $58,600/year plus generous benefits package
Start Date: 6/27/2022 or earlier End Date: 12/21/2022
Remote in USA, or Chicago HQ
PTP seeks applicants for our HR and Payroll Specialist role. In this position, the right candidate will help PTP's HR team support the onboarding of paid staff members and up to 6000 contractors for the 2022 election cycle.
Reporting to the Payroll and Benefits Manager, the HR and Payroll Specialist will be a highly organized individual who is able to set-up and execute systems to complete background checks, confirm offers, process onboarding paperwork, maintain records and ensure that new employees have a positive first experience when joining PTP.
This position is eligible for benefits, including employer-sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance, FSA, 401(k), student loan repayment assistance, paid time off, and paid holidays.
There are no formal education requirements for this position. People of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
· Provide support to the Payroll and Benefits Manager and HR Director
· Complete background checks and confirm employee eligibility or raise potential issues to the HR Director
· Manage the new employee orientation process
· Ensure the employee directory and org charts are up-to-date
· Download and file hiring paperwork from the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
· Maintain personnel files electronically
· Upload personnel file documents for active employees into the HRIS
· Assist with bi-weekly payroll and complete payroll in manager's absence
· Assist in investigating employee relations issues as needed
· Work with managers and employees to complete incident and accident reports, ensure employees are supported and file workers compensation claims if needed
· Oversee assigned HR projects
· The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned
Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):
· You have at least 2 years of payroll, HRIS, and/or HR Generalist experience
· You have successfully worked in a position that requires excellent organizational skills and you are highly detail oriented
· You are comfortable learning new technology
· You are proficient in G Suite Products (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
· Experience with Oasis or Paychex systems or a similar HRIS/Payroll system
· Experience working in a political or campaign environment
· Fluent in Spanish
