LCV is hiring a Donor Engagement and Events Coordinator who will work closely with the fundraising events team to produce high-quality special events and major donor programming around the country. The Development department engages major donors for the LCV family of organizations including LCV, LCV Action Fund, LCV Victory Fund, and LCV Education Fund. The team works on special events, institutional gifts, individual direct solicitation as well as major donor mail, email and phone programs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, skilled in project management, able to work collaboratively across teams, and committed to racial justice. This position offers an opportunity to grow fundraising skills in a large environmental advocacy organization with a multifaceted team of fundraisers.
Responsibilities:
- Working with the Director of Donor Engagement and Donor Engagement and Events Manager, coordinate all aspects of LCV’s major donor fundraising events and donor-focused cultivation programs.
- Support programming for all donor and member-focused webinars, including scheduling, speaker outreach, and program creation, working with the events team to ensure a diverse pool of speakers across all event programming, and focusing on accurately portraying LCV’s racial justice and equity work within our event programming.
- Work with the fundraising marketing team to draft and coordinate all communications for events, including host and host committee letters, invitations, event programs, special guest outreach, acknowledgments, and post-event follow up, working with the Donor Engagement and Events Manager to ensure that materials reflect the organization’s values and commitment to racial justice and equity.
- Research and coordinate logistics with venues and vendors, including supporting the Director of Donor Engagement and Donor Engagement and Events Manager in researching vendors who are led by historically underrepresented groups, including people of color, women, LGBTQ+ owned businesses.
- Work with the fundraising operations team to organize event outreach lists and maintain accurate information in the Salesforce donor database.
- Maintain event pages in LCV’s event software, Swoogo, and serve as in-house expert on the platform.
- Serve as a point person for event invitees, hosts, and vendors.
- Maintain all event data tracking, including registration, seating, attendance, and special requests.
- Update event budgets and process all vendor payments.
- Design and manage event web pages, online donation forms, and email templates, working closely with other development team members to ensure forms are accessible to donors.
- Staff in-person and virtual events, including technical support for virtual events, and build strong relationships with Board of Directors, donors, speakers and vendors. Coordinate with executive leadership on day of events to ensure speakers and related materials are prepared.
- Work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to ensure events, program activities, and materials are in compliance with campaign finance laws and regulations.
- Manage the events team’s email and outreach calendar, in coordination with development marketing and online engagement teams.
- Write and track all speaker requests.
- Maintain and order supplies for events, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Work Experience: Required - Minimum of 2 years experience working in a fundraising, administrative, or customer service role. Experience working in donor databases, coordinating projects and working with key stakeholders including major donors, board members, consultants, or organizational leadership. Preferred - Event planning experience. Experience working with event software and the Salesforce database. Experience working in a nonprofit, political organization or campaign. Experience organizing data and lists, creating invitations and other marketing materials, coordinating virtual meetings or events using online platforms.
- Skills: Excellent organization and project management skills. Strong written and oral communications skills Highly attentive to details and able to take ownership of routine tasks. Adept at developing and maintaining systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive. Works well in a fast-paced environment and is able to multitask without sacrificing the quality of the work. Ability to work across teams and departments to achieve shared goals. Interest in issue advocacy or political work.

- Working Conditions: This job operates in a professional office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems. This position is largely sedentary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. The person in this position frequently communicates with donors and must be able to exchange accurate information. The person in the position will frequently be expected to move between sites, and must be able to occasionally move objects up to 20 pounds as part of event coordination. Able to work hours exceeding stated office hours, as needed; ability and willingness to travel up to 10% as needed. This position is based in Washington, DC.
