GALVANIZE: Monologue Madness 2020 National Quarantine Challenge

Hello Actors!

Just a quick update that we are accepting online audition self-tapes through this Saturday, 10/3/20, at 5pm, EDT

So far, we've received tons of submissions from across the country including the hotspots of LA, NYC, and ATL.

The fewest number of submissions, by far, are from the DC region. So, get those tapes in!

Details below and online at www.MonologueMadness.net

-----

Monologue Madness 2020 National Quarantine Challenge

Actors and Fans!

Monologue Madness, DC's annual tournament of acting was originally set to celebrate its 8th anniversary at the John F. Kennedy Center during the spring of 2020, followed by its first national tour stop in Atlanta, GA this fall. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the competition has just announced an October nation-wide virtual event!

"I've been avoiding a virtual competition because the event works best on stage in front of a live audience," says producer Edward Daniels. "However, there are tons of actors out of work at the moment and I want to add to the few opportunities that are out there for us right now."

Traditionally, Monologue Madness feeds off the excitement of the NCAA's March Madness Basketball Tournament, offering theatre and film lovers the chance to cheer on their favorite actors in a unique sold-out theatre setting.

The one-night tournament of acting selects 32 actors from a mass audition and places them on stage where they compete, head-to-head, with their best one-minute monologues before a live audience, a panel of casting director judges, through five rounds, to claim a $1000 prize.

This year's virtual challenge will follow much of the competition's usual format, with a few twists.  The Monologue Madness 2020 National Quarantine Challenge will feature over two weeks of an open call period where actors may submit their best one-minute monologue for judging.

All submissions will be judged by a panel of three film and theatre casting professionals.  Additionally, 50 of those performances will be viewable online for an 'audience choice' vote and a $250 cash award.  On October 12th, the Top 32 actors will be announced and invited to compete in the single-elimination tournament bracket.

On Sunday, Oct 18th, the Top 32 will compete in a live-streamed virtual event, head-to-head, through five themed rounds including Comedy, Drama, Classical, and a Cold Read. The last two actors remaining will battle in the Final round and the last actor standing will receive $1000.

Entry and submission details are now available online at www.MonologueMadness.net

Monologue Madness is produced in part by grant funding provided by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts via the 2020 CAH-NEA CARES Act grant program.

GALVANIZE: Life Coaching for Creative Artists

Hey there, it's been a while since I posted on here. You most likely don't know me at all lol

Allow me to (re)Introduce myself, my name is Daren Joseph.

I, like you, am a creative artist.

Professionally, I am an award-winning Music Producer, award-winning Actor and I am the lead singer of the rock band Fallen Evil.

At home I am Fiance, Dad to two and Daren to two more.

I am the Vice President of Public Relations for my Toastmasters club, a Solar Energy Consultant and last but not least, I am a certified Life Coach.

Which, is the reason I am sending out this message to you.

You like me, are a powerful multi-talented, Creator.

And if you're anything like me, you fall into states where you feel pulled in so many directions, feel lost and end up feeling like you're just spinning your wheels, ultimately going nowhere.

As a creative artist, it is really easy to not have things like structure and discipline in our lives because....well....we are creative!

However....

If you have ever really studied the difference between those that are truly "successful" and those that are still "aspiring" to be, you'd notice that one of the biggest differences is in their habits and support structures.

You know that you still have room to grow.  You know that if you could just get beyond your mental, emotional, physical and psychological barriers that you could be so much further than where you are right now.

I want to help you with that.

Coaching creative artists with things like this is what I do.  Being on the journey myself has given me the experience, insight and ability to "get you", be able to be an outside ear and a support structure unlike any you've had.

I've worked with musicians, actors, costume designers, directors, teachers and the list goes on.

I'm writing this message to invite you to schedule a free consultation where we can discuss what is REALLY holding you back and to explore the possibility of how you and I can partner along your journey to make the last part of 2020 the best part of the year and prepare you for 2021.

I have a special offer for only the Galvanize group that we will discuss on the call.

Let me know if you would like to FINALLY get beyond your walls and take the power back and if you are truly committed to your success, whatever that looks like to you.

It's time to be someone different and there is no better moment than now.

Talk to you soon!
