What You Can Expect:
Critically-acclaimed actress, director, and producer, Taraji P. Henson, presents her CORE Acting Studio Masterclass in her hometown, Washington, DC! Attendees will participate in a hands-on workshop, learning the foundations of acting for television, theatre and film through scene work, monologues, and cold readings. Ms. Henson will personally coach actors, on their feet, with pre-selected material. In addition to the class, Ms. Henson will give insider tips on audition techniques, share secrets to managing mental health and a lasting career in the arts, as well as discuss how authenticity breeds success. "Keep it Real!"
Ms. Henson will be joined by additional master acting teachers for pre-workshop training.
*HUGE BONUS - Saturday, April 4th, attendees will be given the unique opportunity to put what they've learned into practice! You will be invited to participate in an on-camera taping which will be reviewed and made available to Ms. Henson's production company for future projects. This will give participants a feel for how on-camera tests work in real time!
*There are no gaurantees that any attendee will be cast for any specific project, as is the case with any casting call.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email with more information regarding details of the session.
This is a ticketed event in support of The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, which advocates for the destigmatization of mental illness in the African-American community
This session will run for 4-hours and will include a pre-workshop prep class and post disscussion. Attendees should arrive at least 15-30 minutes prior for check-in.
*Must be 14 years of age or over to attend.
