A 2000 óta működő berettyóújfalui Igazgyöngy Alapítvány a kistérség 6 településén végez művészeti nevelő munkát, ahova 23 faluból mintegy 670 gyerek érkezik, akiknek 70%-a hátrányos helyzetű és 250 gyermek él mélyszegénységben. Az alapítvány munkatársai ezen kívül nagy figyelmet fordítanak a gyerekek családjainak szociális támogatására, a falvak életkörülményeinek javítására is. A Santa Monica-i Hiromi Paper Művészellátó szaküzletben jelentek meg a fametszetről nyomtatott papírsárkányok. Ezek motívumait, mintázatainak alapjait a gyermekrajzok adták. A kézzel készített, japán papírra nyomtatott termékeket a szülők és a helyi közösség készítette. (Lásd melléklet.) The Igazgyöngy (Real Pearl) Foundation is a public benefit, non-governmental, civil organization in Hungary. Its main purpose is basic art education, talent development, family care, and the organization of vocational training courses for socially disadvantaged students. It is based in one of the poorest parts of Hungary, Berettyóújfalu. The foundation operates a basic art school in six different locations in the area, educating 670 children from 23 villages, 70% of whom are underprivileged; 250 live in deep poverty, most coming from Roma families. Now kites were created by local children and their parents. (See picture attached.) The parents cut wood blocks for printing, using motifs from their children's drawings.
