• Manages the internship program for spring, summer and fall.
• Assesses inventory of DNC departmental needs and aligns potential
interns accordingly based on skill, background, and interest to respective
DNC departments.
• Promotes the DNC internship program through outreach via social
media, local universities and organizations to ensure an inclusive and
diverse group of students.
· Develops internship program curriculum.
• Administers the intern scholarship fund program and selection
process for awardees.
• Prepare weekly status updates and executive memos to keep senior
staff informed of intern activities.
• Assists in vendor and office supply management.
• Bill reconciliation and review for phone and other carriers.
• Assist with additional projects and events as needed.
*SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:*
• Requires leadership skills, effective verbal and written
communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
• Experience with outreach and/or managing a grassroots/volunteer
program is preferred.
• Enjoys a fast paced working environment, understands the sense of
urgency, and has a proactive approach to assignments.
• Ability to work to work independently; strong organizational
skills with an attention to detail.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• One to two years' experience, OR any similar combination of
education and experience.
• Team player and has an interest in politics.

*RESPONSIBILITIES**: *
The Research Associate is responsible for individual long-term research
projects, as well as timely response projects. They have a responsibility
to perform in the following areas:
· Possess a strong knowledge of current events including GOP
leadership, opposition and right-wing activity, U.S. Congress, and activity
around the upcoming campaign cycles.
· Thoroughly gather and utilize information from a variety of
sources including Lexis-Nexis, various government entities and web sites.
· Quickly read, analyze and format news clips, state and federal
votes, campaign finance reports, corporate filings, public government
records, legal records and related items.
· Monitor and extracting key points from local and national news.
· Simplify very complex issues into factual and concise narratives.
· Perform additional specific research responsibilities, as
directed.
*SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**:*
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
· Cunning attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
· Ability to take direction, ask questions and quickly learn new
tasks and databases.
· Self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
· Ability to keep up with the 24 hour news cycle.
· Creative thinking and desire to explore new avenues.
· High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Political training or background to understand and explain
significance of events and findings.
· The ideal candidate will have specific knowledge of Nexis,
campaign finance databases, federal and state-level vote analysis,
statistical data gathering, and primary source materials.
· Bachelor's degree is preferred and political research, campaign,
or government experience is a plus.
· Spanish language skills welcome.
