*Organization Overview:*
Organizing for Action is a nonprofit organization established to advance
the national agenda Americans voted for when they re-elected President
Obama in 2012. OFA will advocate for these policies throughout the country
and will mobilize citizens of all parties and diverse points of view to
speak out for the speedy passage and effective implementation of this
agenda, including, but not limited to gun violence prevention, sensible
environmental policies to address climate change, and immigration reform.
In addition, OFA will encourage the formation of chapters that will be
dedicated at the grassroots level to these programs, but also committed to
identifying and working towards progressive change on a range of issues at
the state and local level.

*Position Overview:*
The Regional Director will be responsible for overseeing approximately 10
states from the northeastern U.S. In this role, the Regional Director will
manage paid and volunteer state leadership, which will entail a heavy
amount of coaching, mentoring and guiding leaders to effectively develop
self-sustaining chapters. The Regional Director will work with leadership
in many areas of grassroots organizing, including issue advocacy, earned
media, training, organization building, political outreach, constituency
outreach, digital organizing, data management, resource management, and
fundraising. The Regional Director will also manage a small team in HQ
that will support the state based operations. The Regional Director will
serve as the primary source of communication to and from the states to the
national leadership.
*Qualifications*
· Experience in a senior state or headquarters leadership role in the
2008 or 2012 cycle (minimum DFD/FD level)
· Experience managing a large number of people and organizing towards
common goals
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· A good sense of humor and commitment to a positive attitude
· Proven ability to meet challenging deadlines in a fast paced work
environment
· Competitive candidates should have experience conducting voter
contact, earned media events, organization building, political outreach,
constituency outreach, digital organizing, data management, and resource
management.
· Issue organizing, fundraising experience, or Legislative advocacy
are a plus.

*Compensation*: Salary is competitive and will include both health and
dental benefits. A minimum one year commitment is required to begin in DC
and will require a move to Chicago.

*Position Overview:*
Organizing for Action is now accepting applications for full-time or
part-time interns to start immediately in the Washington, DC office.
Interns will have the unique opportunity to work closely with Organizing
for Action staff in its early stages, playing a meaningful role in the
formation of a powerful grassroots organization. Placements are available
in the Grassroots Organizing, Training, Issue Campaigns, Digital, or
Finance Departments. This is an unpaid internship.
The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a strong desire
to learn and a deep commitment to OFA's mission. He or she will have the
opportunity to dedicate his/her time to one or many areas of the
organization including but not limited to: organizing, research,
communications, digital, advanced support for partners and clients, and
general administrative tasks.
*Requirements:*
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Strong desire to learn; strong interest in a career in
political engagement/public affairs/grassroots organizing/communications
• Strong project management skills
• Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, meet deadlines,
think critically & creatively
• Ability to work efficiently and learn quickly in a
fast-paced environment
• Strong commitment to changing the world
