Campaign Organizer

Summary
Enough, a project of the Center for American Progress, seeks a candidate
for Campaign Organizer. The Organizer will be responsible for coordinating
offline community engagement work for Enough's campaign initiatives,
ensuring that campaigns continue to directly influence decision makers and
achieve meaningful policy change to end genocide and crimes against
humanity. The Organizer will work under the supervision of the Director of
Public Outreach and in close collaboration with Enough Project policy,
advocacy, campaign, and communications staff to spread awareness and
mobilize targeted action by the public. This is a full-time position based
in Washington, D.C.
*Responsibilities:*
- Help expand and diversify the Enough Project's campaign presence and
supporter base across the United States—primarily focusing on faith-based
communities, diaspora groups, and other influential grasstops networks.
- Identify, cultivate, train, and deploy individuals with the potential
to become volunteer community leaders and build their capacity to directly
organize on Enough's key priorities through special events, teach-ins,
speaking engagements, lobby meetings, direct actions, and
coalition-building with local NGOs in their communities.
- Coordinate new and ongoing projects that engage community activists,
grasstops leaders, and concerned members of the public in offline
campaigning actions.
*Requirements and qualifications:*
- Bachelor's degree plus two or more years of professional experience in
social justice and grassroots organizing.
- Strong knowledge and commitment to human rights and genocide
prevention.
- Experience in developing and running effective training workshops.
- Experience in designing and delivering activist actions.
- Event-planning experience.
- Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and successfully mobilize diverse
constituencies.
- Willingness to travel within the United States (up to 25 percent of
the time); must hold current U.S. driver's license.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and multitask.
- Strategic thinker who is able to deliver results in shifting political
environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Commitment to multiculturalism, nondiscrimination, and diversity.
