Re: [Unicum]

Depends on the airline you are flying with. Some requests testing before you leave. You have to check their requirements. In Hungary no one asked about anything at all but we went with United and they asked for both cdc+test

(Career Progress) Digital Principal at Fireside Campaigns!

To learn more and apply click here!

Fireside Campaigns is a values-first firm that integrates public relations, digital strategy, and data-driven analytics to create full-service communications for movement partners. Fireside is seeking a Digital Principal who is eager to thoughtfully manage a team to provide strategic guidance and run effective campaigns.

The firm supports exciting candidates and non-profit clients who are working to reform and safeguard America's democracy, hold power accountable, and ensure everyone has a chance to thrive in this country. You can read more about us and some of our clients on our website.

Fireside Campaigns works to transform our country into one that truly lives by the best values that it professes. We've personally expressed our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through our work on behalf of progressive clients and movement partners since the day we were founded. We understand that we've sometimes fallen short of ensuring that same diversity within the ranks of our own firm and are actively seeking to remedy it. That is why we are redoubling our commitment to promoting racial equity inside our organization, its operations, and its management processes. We want Fireside to be a place where everyone feels welcome, everyone has an environment where they can feel confident and safe, and where everyone can succeed.

That is why equal employment opportunity is a guiding principle for us. We are committed to ensuring a workplace where employment and promotional opportunities are based upon individual capabilities and qualifications without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, sexual orientation, age, national origin, marital status, citizenship, disability, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as established under law.

About the Role

The Digital Principal will oversee digital email strategy for our clients, manage a team of senior associates, junior associates, and interns, and aid in content creation for digital campaigns. The position requires an individual who understands that we've entered a new era of political communications in this country and that the tactics we've employed for a generation to influence voters and compel them to action simply aren't working anymore. You are always thinking of innovations and are eager to try new and interesting things with clients. Messaging needs to be written in a way so that target audiences will emotionally connect with it and feel compelled to share those messages with others and be driven to take action. THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION.

As a team leader, the Digital Principal will manage a team of junior and senior associates, leading their day to day work, but also supporting their professional growth. This role requires both big picture strategic thought and analysis of American politics as well as the comfort and ability to get into the details of data, writing, metrics, and more.

You will work with the firm's partners and clients to develop overarching digital strategy, calendars, email plans, and in some cases advertising plans for Democratic campaigns and/or progressive advocacy groups across the country. Working collaboratively with your team, you will help create and manage digital campaigns across various channels for outcomes such as email fundraising, acquisition and voter contact, as well as evaluate and share the results of these campaigns with clients. The Digital Principal must be a strong writer with incredibly close attention to detail.

In this role, no two days will be exactly alike, but you will:

  • Ensure a mentorship and training approach to management of a team of junior and senior associates and interns; we expect these individuals to learn and grow in the organization and you will help them get to that goal;
  • Effectively co-manage the team's day to day work to edit, create, and write email and social media content and leading regular check in meetings;
  • Hold you and your team accountable to centering equity and inclusion in the work, through learning, conversations, goal setting and more;
  • Act as a strategic partner for clients to drive digital programs, calendars, emails, and advertising informed by performance data;
  • Ensure high-quality work is delivered on-time and on-budget; this includes a willingness to write reports, draft and schedule emails and social media, or other tasks when needed;
  • Serve as a front-facing contact directly with clients including setting up agendas and leading frequent meetings with clients, their team, and other staff members;
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop integrated online advertising and acquisition campaigns;
  • Proactively look for creative applications of new digital tools, techniques, and channels for communicating with voters, keeping abreast of recent developments in research and testing from other sources;
  • Schedule and deploy emails in a variety of CRM platforms; and
  • Other duties as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

For someone to succeed in this role, you most likely have 5+ years of digital political experience including senior digital leadership experience. At least one cycle of campaigning, experience on Capitol Hill, independent expenditures, non-profits, labor, or issue advocacy groups or similar are all valued.

  • Commitment to progressive values and a strong competency in American politics;
  • A well-developed analysis of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, digital communications, team building and more in the workplace;
  • Demonstrated project and personnel management experience with the ability to juggle multiple projects at once;
  • Ability to deliver on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment; EoQ/EoM is a thing you love/hate;
  • Problem solving skills that are focused on both immediate and long term outcomes for the client - you are working to make them and us better;
  • Strong writing and copy editing skills;
  • Analytical thinking- you should be able to correctly interpret and advise clients and staff on key metrics and findings;
  • Excellent communication and comfort working with a distributed team in different time zones using the tools of a modern office like Google Docs and Slack; and
  • Competencies in the tools and technical skills needed to lead and support your team's projects including but not limited to:
    • Writing, managing, and executing email, text and social programs for political campaigns and/or progressive nonprofit organizations;
    • Coding email and landing page wrappers using HTML & CSS;
    • Driving social media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other channels;
    • Navigating CRM and CMS systems, especially Action Network, BSD Tools, NGP/EveryAction, and WordPress; and
    • Experience or familiarity with digital advertising platforms.

Additional Skills That Would Be Useful But Not Required

  • Meticulous proofreader;
  • Graphic design experience;
  • Basic video production skills;
  • Experience with digital ad planning and implementation;
  • Broadcast and peer-to-peer mobile experience; and/or
  • Comfort and experience developing reports, metrics and analysis.

Salary and Benefits

This position is salaried at $78,750. At Fireside Campaigns, to ensure pay equity, all salaries are set in bands according to the expectations of the role. In other words, the starting pay for this job is equal to others at the same level throughout the company. As a result, salary is not open to negotiation.

Our benefits include:

  • unlimited paid time off (15 days minimum required)
  • $100/month for cell phone reimbursement (in addition to salary)
  • $100/month for home office needs (in addition to salary)
  • Laptop, 2nd monitor, and external keyboard/mouse
  • Health and dental insurance through the DC Exchange with employer-covered 100% up to silver plans
  • Automatic 10% raise at the end of your first year of employment
  • 16 weeks of Family and Medical Leave
  • Potential for bonuses based upon individual and firm performance at the end of each year
  • As a growing firm, there is the potential for more benefits to be added to this list in the future

Location: Remote, anywhere in the U.S. We have an office in the Washington, D.C. area, but we are working from home due to the pandemic. When it is safe to do so, working in the D.C. office will be optional.

Travel: There is no travel associated with this role until it is widely safe to do so. There may be domestic travel involved in the job in the future upon discussion.

*A cover letter is entirely optional and will be a small part of our evaluation.

Qualified candidates will participate in a series of interviews with a range of staff at Fireside Campaigns.

Fireside Campaigns believes that a diverse, inclusive staff is a fundamental strength. We're committed to hiring people of all races, ethnicities, religions, ages, sexes, genders, sexual orientations, and gender identities. People of color, women, LGBTQ individuals, and members of other minority or marginalized groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

Re: [Unicum] Re:

Szervusz, Lada.

Your son could volunteer to walk and play with dogs and/or cats at the animal shelter.
They are very lonely, scared and sad.

Volunteering there a very rewarding, joyous, fun thing and it teaches people to care about others--both human and animal.  And he would meet other like-minded volunteers and staff.

Volunteering at an animal shelter is a wonderful character-builder, especially for teenagers who naturally tend to be selfish. It's just a part of being a teenager. We were all self-centered as kids that's why it's important to root that out of children and replace it with kindness, caring and generosity.

GALVANIZE: For DC Artists: Wherewithal Grant Application Portal Opens Next Week

Subject: For DC Artists: Wherewithal Grant Application Portal Opens Next Week

The Application Portal for the 2022 Wherewithal Grant Cycle will Open Next Week!
Dear DC-Area Artists and Collectives,

We are so excited to announce the next cycle of Wherewithal Grants! Starting next week you can begin applying for these $5,000 grants to further your practice through collaborative research or group projects. You can choose to apply for either a research or project grant depending on which best supports your practice at this time. Wherewithal Grants are intended to advance a wide range of experimental and multidisciplinary practices, particularly those that emphasize collaboration and discourse.

Research Grants funds can be used to compensate you for your intellectual labor and idea development, to pay other artists and thinkers for their time and contributions, and for costs associated with gaining access to specific resources.

Project Grant monies can be used to support ongoing, or new, artist-organized projects that are presented publicly during the grant period in unconventional or D.I.Y. artist-run spaces. They cannot take place in commercial galleries, museums, or established non-profit art spaces.

Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel of artists and arts professionals with up to 12 grants awarded. The grant period is from January–December 2022.

We will provide more details next week when the application portal opens. In the meantime, please email Regrants Manager Nathalie von Veh at nvonveh@wpadc.org with any questions.

Watch their presentations here.
About Wherewithal Grants
Wherewithal Grants are a funding source for visual artists in the DC-area. Generously funded by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts as part of its regional regranting program and managed by WPA, these grants are intended to both sustain and stimulate artist-organized culture.

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting Program was established in 2007 to recognize and support the movement of independently organized, public-facing, artist-centered activity that animates local and regional art scenes but that lies beyond the reach of traditional funding sources. The program is administered by non-profit visual art centers across the United States that work in partnership with the Foundation to fund artists' experimental projects and collaborative undertakings.
This Week: Bilphena Yahwon Takes Over WPA's Instagram
From Wednesday, August 25 through Friday, August 27, WPA's summer Artist-Organizer-in-Residence, Bilphena Yahwon, will be taking over our Instagram account @wpadc to share where her research on pre-civil war Liberia has taken her during the past month while in residence in our space. Learn more about Yahwon's research and residency here.
About WPA
Washington Project for the Arts (WPA) is a platform for collaborative and experimental artist-organized projects, dialogue, and advocacy. Artists curate and organize all of our programming—as an extension of their own intellectual research. Their projects can take many forms, from conversational dinners, exhibitions, field trips, film screenings, grass-roots organizing meetings, and installations, to lectures, performances, podcasts, publications, symposia, workshops, and more.
Supporters
WPA is grateful for those who help make this work possible. The best way to support our artist-organized programs is through a monthly contribution. Thank you!
WPA is supported by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts; The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts; Bloomberg Philanthropies; Glenstone Foundation; The Corcoran Women's Committee; The Morris & Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation; Hickok Cole Architects; and many other generous foundations, corporations, and individuals.
