Logline: A young woman growing up into adulthood is still struggling with her youthful past and insecurities while trying to find her own voice.
KAYLA ALI: Female, 18-years old, first-born generation Trinidadian-American (Indian-Caribbean). She's quiet, shy, insecure, and heavy-set. However, she's highly creative and intelligent. (LEAD)
JADE: Female, 20-years old, African-American. She's the leader of the Creative Writers Club. She's driven, passionate, intelligent, and she intends to lead a helping hand to those who are seeking their higher purpose. (ONE SCENE)
ANG: Male, 18-years old, East Asian. He's an extreme introvert yet he's grounded and knows what his purpose is in life. (ONE SCENE--but will also read for LI)
LI: Male, 18-years old, East Asian. Chris' roommate who also deeply cares about fulfilling his needs. (TWO SCENES will be played by the same actor who reads for ANG)
NATASHA ALI: Female, early-50s, Trinidadian (Indian-Caribbean). Natasha is a single mother to Kayla and Kareema. She is a strong woman who can hold her own but she carries a heavy secret on her shoulders. (SUPPORTING)
KAREEMA ALI: Female, early 20s, first-born generation Trinidadian-American. Kareema is a pilates instructor and she's in her last year of college. She seems to have overcome what Kayla is currently going through. However, she fails at every attempt to help her younger sister. (SUPPORTING)
MAIA KHANNA: Female, 18-years old, South Asian. Maia is Kayla's best friend. She is outgoing and cares deeply about her appearance. Her goal is to be center-of-attention. (TWO TO THREE SCENES)
CHRIS (KRISHNA) PATEL: Male, 18-years old, South Asian. Kayla's love interest who has no interest in her at all except for fulfilling his needs. (SUPPORTING)
