Position Description
America Votes is seeking a talented leader with a record of success in electoral and issue campaign strategy, program execution and analysis. The national director of planning and program analysis is primarily responsible for the development, curation and distribution of key outputs to advance strategies and program best practices across the America Votes network, including internal training curriculum and materials, experiment results and products for program planning, execution and analysis.
The national director of planning and program analysis will work within a dynamic team at the national level and in states to leverage all of the organization's tremendous assets nationally and across states in processes for planning and analysis and ensure strategies are informed by innovation and impact evaluation occurring across the progressive community. This leader will work with state and national staff to develop, manage and produce a schedule of strategic outputs, analyses and other products to support the planning process, increase the learning and use of best practices by America Votes partners and support organizational goals. This leader will work closely with allied infrastructure organizations to procure, develop and distribute information and learning about program best practices and development of program metrics.

Location
Washington D.C. is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
· Lead and coordinate a centralized process for continuous planning and analysis that America Votes conducts in states and with national partners.
· Establish and continually update evidence-based best practices for planning and program execution to maximize partners' collective impact by leveraging America Votes' central role in program coordination.
· Drive development of a suite of analysis and planning products, working very closely with internal stakeholders.
· Serve as the point person for program expertise, learning and innovation for the America Votes national office.
· Set up systems to organize information and materials for internal and external audiences.
· Collaborate with key national departments and state teams on core elements and strategies of the planning process and engagement of stakeholders, including staff, partners and allied experts, to ensure America Votes' plans are informed by program best practices and are continually refined and updated.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Ten to 15 years of combined experience in building, executing and analyzing electoral or issue campaigns (independent activity program preferred).
· Extensive knowledge of best practices in traditional field campaigns, digital programs, new voter contact technologies and program testing.
· Demonstrated experience managing high volumes of information and large-scale projects with many moving parts; ability to prioritize and handle variety of projects simultaneously.
· Excellent writing and presentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
· Work well with people from diverse backgrounds. Experience working in communities of color preferred.
· Demonstrated expert-level ability to exercise excellent political judgement and discretion.
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
· Self-starter willing to work campaign style hours and travel, as needed.
· Candidates with knowledge or background in national progressive politics and organizations preferred.
· Ideal candidates will have a spirit of service and a sense of humor.
· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience, $125,000-$145,000. Benefits include health, dental, vision and 401(K).
