(Career Progress) Client Services Training Specialist

Are you passionate about helping Democrats, progressives and non-profits succeed and do more good in the world? Do you have video production and editing skills? Do you have experience training people, including activities such as mentoring, tutoring and/or software support?


If so, we'd love to talk to you about joining the NGP VAN and EveryAction team – to help put together our new training offerings for our digital, non-profit and political clients. The position is partly focused on helping build out and maintain our training video production and partly on performing on-going live client training, either via webinar or in person.


What You're Good At

  • Previous experience teaching or training in the software industry, especially for nonprofits.
  • You've previously helped create and develop multimedia (audio/video) content for customer stories, training videos, internal company announcement videos, external promotional social videos, product marketing videos, recruiting videos, or similar content.
  • You're detail-oriented, great at following up and don't let things slip through the cracks.
  • You're not afraid to help script, storyboard, set deadlines and select optimal forms of media for projects, as well as can work independently, as well as part of a team, to establish project deliverables.
  • You can easily collaborate with internal team members and stakeholders to help facilitate the creation of multimedia content.
  • You have a demonstrated and passionate interest in Democratic + progressive politics and ideals, are good with technology generally, and are willing to work with lots of different orgs who need our help.
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong critical thinking, logical problem-solving ability, and a willingness to learn.

Bonus Points

  • You have experience working with compliance, fundraising, and/or email tools, for political campaigns, unions or nonprofits.
  • You have used NGPVAN, MyNGP, EveryAction, VAN and Votebuilder (or their competitors) as part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Experience in customer relations or an equivalent field, though not required, is valued;
  • You have a network of friends in the campaign or nonprofit technology world.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS, MS Access, MS SQL Server, and/or writing SQL queries always a bonus.
  • The position is posted for our Somerville, MA office, but could be in our Washington, DC headquarters.
