Position Description

This individual will work on national, state, and inside-the-beltway issue campaigns, and play a significant role in executing robust earned and paid media activities. This role reports to the Communications Director, will work closely with the Communications Associates and Research Director, and requires the ability to work independently and balance multiple priorities.

Strong candidates will have campaign/political experience, be skilled at writing with attention to detail, and should be able to demonstrate a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

Major responsibilities include:

·       Writing op-eds, press releases, talking points, other products, and message guidance

·       Assisting with day-to-day communications needs for a number of clients

·       Contributing to the execution of communications plans to generate earned media and drive a narrative

·       Helping to implement communications and campaign strategies for our clients that help them frame the debate and advance their agenda

Qualifications

We need someone who has:

·       Very strong writing, copy editing, and communication skills

·       A strong interest in politics and the political process

·       The ability to be dependable, flexible, detail-oriented, work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable working independently

·       Adeptness using social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)

·       A proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook

·       A communications and political background

·       Some experience in dealing with reporters
