A GIRL NAMED GLORIA
A raw, emotional drama about a woman trapped in an abusive marriage who must find the strength to escape before the violence destroys her and her daughter. As control tightens and danger escalates, survival becomes an act of courage and love becomes the ultimate weapon.
Gloria (Primary) Female, 40s, African American. A devoted mother and wife living under the weight of abuse. Quietly resilient, emotionally worn and physically fragile, Gloria is slowly gathering the strength to reclaim her life and protect her child.
Greg (Primary) Male, early–mid 40s. A controlling, abusive husband who hides his cruelty behind authority and intimidation. Volatile, manipulative and terrifyingly unpredictable. Must feel dangerous even in stillness.
Gina (Primary) Female, 15. Gloria's daughter. Intelligent, observant and emotionally mature beyond her years. Protective of her mother and forced to grow up too fast, Gina becomes the unexpected force that shifts the balance of power.
Sylvia (Supporting) Female, 40s. Gloria's best friend. Loyal, outspoken and deeply concerned. Represents outside truth, compassion, and the life Gloria could have if she escapes.
AMINAH'S GOT 15 MINUTES
A young woman walks through the streets of Baltimore as she struggles to make a life changing decision before a very important appointment.
Aminah (Primary) Female, 20s, can be Middle Eastern, South Asian, SWANA, African, or Black American. The character will be wearing a hijab. Aminah is a young journalist with a quirky imagination. As she tries to make a life changing decision, she vacillates between intense anxiety and maladaptive daydreaming as a form of escape.
DEAD AIR
A late-night radio host's routine broadcast turns terrifying when he answers a call from someone claiming to be inside the station, forcing him into a psychological battle where silence becomes deadly.
Caller (Voiceover) 20s–60s. A mysterious and unsettling voice heard over the phone. The Caller is articulate, controlled, and psychologically sharp. Must convey menace, intimacy, and unpredictability using voice alone.
SATURDAY MORNING
A slice of life drama from the townhouse next door. A young woman
learns that her husband is dealing with an external conflict.
Diane (Primary) Female. Mid 20s to early 30s. Organized. Selfcontrolled. Probably works in corporate accounting or quarterly planning.
Jack (Primary) Male. Mid 20s to early 30s. Spontaneous. Except for his job, completely disorganized. Perhaps an ADD poster child. Probably works in sales or promotions
SLOW MOTION
A sharply dressed professional prepares meticulously for an important interview, only to find himself battling internal pressures, motivational voices, and the exhausting performance of ambition. As the interview unfolds, subtle cracks reveal a deeper exploration of identity, perception, and the tension between authenticity and expectation.
Jean (Primary) Late 20's to Late 30's. Black male. Polished. Brilliant. Slightly unraveling. Jean is determined to win every room he enters. When he's nervous or finally relaxed, his quirks slip out—offbeat humor, subtle physical ticks, flashes of unexpected weirdness. This is a nuanced, actor-driven role that lives in micro-shifts between control and vulnerability. Jean carries the film.
Jerry (Primary) 50's to 70's. Senior government official. Calm, sharp, and quietly unconventional. Sneakers with a suit. Dry, sideways humor. He sees through performance instantly and enjoys gently unsettling those who try too hard. Understated authority with precise comedic timing. Stillness is power here.
Soul Brother Recording (Voiceover) 30's to 50's. Charismatic, rhythmic, motivational. Feels like a vinyl-era hype man crossed with a modern self-help Red Pill Podcast/Youtube guru. This voice represents the pressure to perform, to shine, to "keep your motion" as a man. Character is profound but problematic. Strong vocal personality required.
Female Affirmation (Voiceover) Black woman 30's to 40's. Radiant, almost magical femininity that feels warm, grounded, and deeply encouraging. Her voice should feel like light breaking through a window in the morning—calm, reassuring, emotionally intelligent. She is not overly soft or passive; she carries quiet strength and certainty. This presence represents self-worth, grace, and inner stability. The performance should feel intimate, nurturing, and powerful without ever becoming preachy.
Secretary (Supporting) 30's to 50's. Professional, efficient, observant. The steady administrative presence who delivers pivotal information with clarity and subtle timing. Though brief, this role matters and anchors the realism of the world.
THE HOLE YOU LEFT IN MY HEART
An intimate exploration of loss, following one person as they navigate the emotional void left by someone they loved. Learning how to live with what can't be replaced.
Angelica (Primary) Female, Teenager, African American. She is very heart broken over how her love from her dad just disappeared.
Kathy (Mother) Female, 40s, African American. She is Angelica's single mom. She loves and cares for her kids.
Ericka (best friend) Female, Teenager. She is very supportive of her friend Angelica.
Richard (Brother) Male, Teenager, African American. He is Angelica's brother. He is very friendly, talks a lot, and loves his music.
THE NEXT INNING
A talented 17-year-old baseball player navigates the pressures of his sport and family expectations while finding his own path forward with the guidance of an unexpected mentor.
Malik (Primary) Male, 17 (actor 18-25), Black/African American. A gifted baseball player carrying the weight of expectations while trying to discover who he is beyond the sport. He's introspective, vulnerable yet strong, and at a crossroads in his young life.
Mother (Supporting) Female, 40s to 60s, Black/African American. Malik's strong, caring mother who works hard to provide opportunities for her son. She is his biggest supporter and source of stability, navigating her own challenges while wanting the best for him. Warm, resilient, and complex.
Coach (Supporting) Male, 30s to 50s, Open Ethnicity. Athletic build. A father figure who offers Malik guidance without judgment. He understands baseball and life beyond it, helping Malik see the bigger picture. Calm wisdom, grounded presence, natural warmth.
