Several Short Films Seeking Actors
Charm City Filmmakers is casting for nineteen short films written and directed by its members. Each film shoot will be in the Baltimore area. Actors will be compensated with credits, copy, and craft.
We will be breaking the films into three groups. We will be holding In-Person Auditions on the weekend of March 7th/8th for the second group. You can audition for as many roles as you would like. Please email our Casting Director at charmcityfilmmakerscasting@gmail.com to schedule an audition time.
AN ORDINARY DINNER
When a woman and her devoted husband attend a dinner with her long-estranged sister, a polite reunion turns into a psychological ambush that threatens everything she believes about her marriage.
Claire (Primary) Female, 30's, Caucasian. Emotionally intelligent and quietly anxious beneath a composed exterior. She values safety and harmony, often suppressing her own doubts to keep relationships intact.
Daniel (Supporting) Male, 30's. Charming, attentive, and outwardly supportive. He is socially adept and emotionally reassuring. He appears steady, but cracks under pressure with the capacity for volatility under extreme pressure.
Ruth (Supporting) Female, 50's, Caucasian. Polished, deliberate, has life in order. She values predictability and emotional restraint. She projects warmth and domestic calm, is both aware of and complicit in the compromises she has made.
Paul (Supporting) Male, 50's-60's. Sharp, imposing, and psychologically dominant, masking menace with humor and casual charm. He is highly observant, enjoys probing others for weakness, and exerts control through intimidation.
MIDNIGHT WHISPERS
A sultry, erotic broadcast where dark fiction, desire and confession blur into something uncomfortably intimate, leaving audiences unsure whether the danger is imagined or invited.
Ariadne (Primary) Female, 30s, African American. A savvy podcaster and influencer who empowers women to embrace their desires with confidence who is currently tuned into a sensual podcast that's slowly getting under her skin, drawing her deeper into her own longing.
Jae-hyun (Primary) Male, 30s. The enigmatic host of Midnight Whispers. A seductive storyteller who lures listeners with dark, intimate tales.
Demon (Primary) Male, 30s. A predatory figure and one of Jae-hyun's personas, embodying danger and desire. Threatening, confident and magnetic.
Woman (Supporting) Female, 20s. Featured in Jae-hyun's latest broadcast. Naïve and unaware, caught in a dangerous encounter and underestimating the true severity of the situation.
R.E.M.IFICATIONS
A psychological horror short set inside a late-night call center, where productivity, motivation, and exhaustion blur into something inhuman. As pressure mounts and sleep disappears, the workplace exposes a system of dehumanization that doesn't just exploit its workers, it absorbs them, resets, and carries on.
Dillon (Primary) 20's-30's. He is an underpaid call-center worker on the edge of collapse. Quiet, anxious, and emotionally restrained, he is slowly and literally consumed by the system that pays him.
Intercom (Voiceover) Intercom is the calm, upbeat corporate presence that fills the call center. Polished, cheerfully reassuring, and emotionally hollow, it satirizes the system that pays, motivates, and politely dehumanizes its workers.
SURPRISE
On Halloween night, a young female grad student trying to meet a midnight deadline
and avoiding dealing with a stalker gets a scare that will change her life.
Allie (Primary) Female, 20s. A studious young post-graduate student trying to finish a report on Edgar Allan Poe and submit it by midnight on Halloween, freaks herself out a bit while reading his work.
Helen (Supporting) Female, 20s, glasses. A nerdy, techie roommate who thinks Allie needs to get out more.
Heavy Set Man (Supporting) Male, 50s, imposing build. A man with rough-edged, but kindly, features. One who looks like he's lived through shit.

The detectives and attorneys interrogate a suspect in a murder.

Two Indians living away from their homes meet after high school and rekindle their relationship.
Abhi (Primary) Male, 20s, Indian/South Asian. He's homesick and alone in a new city.
Leela (Supporting) Female, 20s, Indian/South Asian. Goofy. Living in the new city for a while, more at ease than Abhi.
